If Vardy was match fit, sharp and took his first half chances we'd be having a totally different conversation!

Strange that Mendy wasn't in the squad by I guess Amartey got the nod because he can cover more positions.

Ranieri has some work to do to find the right balance.

Mendy was omitted because his wife was giving birth.

5 things I learnt today

I don't think we'll see Musa on the left wing again

We either need to find another midfielder who can drive the play forward and break it up or play with three in midfield

Huth is a rock

Schmiechel's distribution was not very good

Musa and Vardy could be a fantastic partnership

We were poor, a shambles, lacked spirit, lacked desire, lost too many second balls and we were clueless with one or two exceptions and above all we didn't seem to know how to get out of the game situation when we needed it after their second goal. It reminded me of England vs Iceland in Euros. We have got to snap out of this and soon.

Bring back Albrighton, don't sell Schlupp, drop Mahrez though it pains me to say so and get Mendy, Amertey and Drinkwater working together.

Team looked rusty and disjointed. Not a proud performance, that is for sure. Vardy not looking up to match fitness.

But remember, it's only one game...

Some calamitous defending for their second goal from our bloody goal kick. Just ridiculous to watch. The players should be ashamed of themselves for today when we are capable of so much more. Sort it out Claudio!

Ridiculous what's the logic to that, was just the kind of player we needed 2nd half

Rusty.  In fairness to Hull they looked fitter, stronger, and first to the ball.  the best team won.  They also made sure there was no space over the top of their defence for Vardy to work in.  Instead of thinking we are Billy Big Bollox travelling half way round the world, it should have been a normal pre-season.  Vardy hardly played before today's game.  Passing was also woeful.  Only Okazaki comes out of it with any credit.  I was complacent today, perhaps the team was too.  CR won't stand for that going forward.  He needs to have a word with himself though.  Kingy is a squad player now and we shouldn't be starting with him.  If we are then we need to strengthen midfield.  Waz should have played to allow Hernandez to experience a premier League game from the bench first before being thrown in.  Huth comes straight back in.  Morgan played like he did pre Huth.  This is how poor we were; it reminded me of Iceland v England; corners not clearing the first defender; crosses flying over everyone's head.  Even the penalty was a very lucky break - outside the box. I don't

expect a season like last, and neither does CR, but he and I do expect fight.  I'm disappointed simply because we know we are so much better.  Draw a line under and onwards and upwards.

Absolutely shocking performance and embarrassing result. Fuelled a lot of the doubters' fire today with that showing. Totally clueless as to how to break them down in the second half. Did their keeper make a significant save?

Not expecting a title defence but that was absolutely shoddy and needs rectifying sharpish.

Our preseason was all about the responsibility of being champions and nothing to do with preparation for the league ...   too many miles and LOTS of distractions with interviews, contracts and transfer talk.   It was bound to have taken its toll and it did.  There was little understanding with the 'new' players brought in and rustiness showed throughout.   Things will get better but maybe (hindsight is a great thing !) he should have played a less experimental team and used stronger players who were more in form and better suited to battle with a bunch of championship journeymen ....  Eg Was, Shinji, Amartey, Albrighton and Leo. Yes we might need some new blood but there is enough there now to do a job if we can get the balance, hunger and attitude back to how it was.

I'm not bothered. I think what we achieved last season will sustain me forever.

The big issue today wasn't about individuals though. It was about a lack of balance. You can't play somebody as outright offensive as Mahrez on one flank without a couple of players to cover elsewhere in the midfield. Gray being on the opposite wing was a mistake, as was playing a central midfield two. We don't have the players to do that without somebody in the Kante role. We should be switching to three in the middle unless Mendy turns out to be something special. Perhaps he will, I know nothing about him.

Playing two outright attacking strikers was also daft. A forward like Vardy or Mendy needs somebody to do the hard yards deeper on the pitch to occupy defenders and defensive midfielders and we didn't have that until Okazaki came on.

The line up smacked a bit of expecting to go out and put a few goals past Hull, to be honest. I doubt that was the case though. It isn't Ranieri's style. Judging by the lack of pressing in the first half and the general lethargy on show there is an issue with fitness. It wouldn't surprise me if that were the case. The ICC was always a daft idea and more about the 'brand' than football. I was disappointed (but unsurprised) when we accepted the invitation.

No need to panic. We'll be comfortable in the middel of the table and will get through our CL group. Anybody who expects more is deluding themselves. Last season was a beautiful anomaly. Something to cherish, but not to expect to see again. Instead of fretting about that we should be enjoying what we have. We are Leicester City, the most remarkable champions of England for decades and are about to embark on a European Cup campaign. We have good owners and a wonderful manager.  We're going to be okay for some time to come. Even if we're not, look at what we've had. Fans of most clubs never get a sniff.
