Liverpool post match 1-4

I can't say I haven't been expecting that type of performance with how the first 4 games have panned out.

Liverpool were decent, but we made them look a lot better than they were.

They were faster and hungrier

if this is how we mentally/professionally  defend the title....god help us.

Our team is so unbalanced with no Kante.

He could leave the attacking players to attack and give the ageing central defence the cover they needed as it today showed they aren't great when they are being pulled left right and centre.

He was the reason Drinky Mahrez and  Vardy stole the show last season by just having to attack.

without him, they now have to fil their defensive duties more and this is showing in our play as there is too much distance from the mf to vards.

Feel more of these performances to come with extra games and more travelling, we don't have the quality squad to cope and will be found out.

I blame the players, not ranieri. He hasn't told them to go out there and be shit. Also blame our awful pre-season and minds clearly being elsewhere.

That ICC was a bad idea. Can see why we went but we have a thin squad relatively and that stetched it. The players looks tired

They'll be more performances like this, especially against the big teams I feel.

Liverpool's front four all have fantastic movement, the defence just stood like statues and watched as they carved us open. Morgan & Huth are stepping out far too many times recently, if they don't intercept we are then left open and they are then out of position. As for Fuchs he has been running around like a headless chicken.

Amartey was superb against Swansea; however this evening proved we can't play him in a midfield two, away from home against the likes of Liverpool. He will have his good games and he will have his bad games, just don't expect him to stand out against the big teams.

Tonight proved as well that we are short of a defender & central midfielder, why on earth didn't we buy any, a very bad mistake.

Bad day at the office, we really need a plan B when it comes to games like this.

Unfortunately there's no time to sort it out as got another game on Wednesday. We've been found out simple as that. Any team that presses us we seem to be clueless against.  The ball over the top to the forwards just ain't working. Fingers crossed that Claudio can work some magic in 3 days because that was shocking.

But we move on and hopefully get a result in Brugge in claudio I trust

We just look knackered and seem to lack discipline. But Liverpool were good today, we won't get top 4 this year lets just enjoy the ride as long as we don't go down and get through the CL group I'll be happy

Remember when they tried to win the ball back?

Remember when we won the league?

We lost 5-2 to Arsenel about this time last season. What followed was magical.

It's going to be harder this season but it's a continuous improvement. Anyone who expected us to coast through this season is new to football. There are 34 games left. A lot can still happen this season and I'm certain we'll find our stride again soon.

It was bad, but the issues that were evident pre-season our still there 4 games in... I hope we bounce back, I hope that I'm proven wrong but I think mid table is the best we will get.

When that window shut the boat sailed past. Unfortunately despite we we did last season when you have an opportunity to consolidate with champions league football you need to take a risk... We haven't and in a way that is a lack of ambition and maybe a mid table finish is what everyone would be delighted with

Mid table?...

Can't see it!

We're going to be hovering around the relegation places IMO.

Yup, parading around the world inflating egos instead of concentrating on our upcoming season. I'd much rather them be playing some league 2 teams.

Wouldn't know it. Judging by the reaction here may as well take the title off us.

Serious syston you know like me to cherish it you have to realise what an achievement it was ! And some here are not cherishing it enough

we will be fine , some need to just have a hamlet

We were woeful. Considering we started the match with 10 of the starting 11 from last seasons championship winning team (minus Kante) we looked a million miles away from the side that we were last campaign.

Defensively we looked lacklustre, if they wanted to they could've opened us up with ease & on many occasions did. Going forward we barely created anything.

Last season I always believed that we could fight our way back into any match but today that feeling definitely was not there. Poor all round.

What an absolutely kick in the bollocks result that was after all our previous superb performances and how well we know we can play !

I cant believe how we can go from Rottweilers to Fooking pugs in the matter of a few weeks,we now need to pick up the pieces regroup and start all over again next game and I certainly hope our lads do that otherwise we will be falling from grace so quickly they'll be dimwitted critics saying I told you so I said they would !!

come on lads where's that never quit attitude from a few months ago gone bring it the fook back and keep us in this league !!

Which is my concern, you mess pre season up and it effects you deep into the season. We just weren't there today, looked weary, lacking energy, sharpness and pace.

That is par for the course for us , so bring it on we will be fine

genuinely believe we will be mid table and happy by February

We were never going to repeat last season, not with same players, there is a reason last season was so absurd. People need to reassess their expectations, defensively we are a bottom half side.

We can't go away from home to a side like Liverpool playing that formation. We might get away with playing 442 against the shite teams but today has proven we have to adapt.

We'll be mid table.

Sat on the coach waiting to get out of this shit hole, pissed off.

These players need to ****ing wake up and remember how they won the league, hard work.

I am now concerned for the season ahead, we look like a team that has never played together.

We need to start mixing it up a bit, playing the same players the team can get complacent. Against Club Brugge I'd go with:

Kasper

Amartey (if Simps is injured)

Morgan

Huth

Chilwell

Kaputzka / Schlupp

Drinkwater

James

Mahrez

Slimani

Vardy / Musa

Our back four was in a bad shape throughout the game and Simpson leaving with an injury didn't make it better. Morgan came up with some seriously concerning **** ups today, I have not seen him play this badly for a long, long time. It's as if he had his mind off someplace else.

Fuchs moved up too often during out attacking attempts (yes, attempts - not a lot of countable attacks going on, if I'm honest), leaving a wide gap open on our left-hand side.

And our midfield... Drinkwater and Mahrez tried, but either hit mistimed passes or tried to dribble it through, losing the ball in the process, too.

Amartey today showed that he is not the answer in central midfield. It was as if we were playing with ten men.

Again no creativity, no impetus, no influence, no control, no desire in the middle of the park.

Another big letdown was the fact that we hardly made it past the halfway line. And when we did, we did our best to undo any attacking intentions within seconds.

This Liverpool side is a very good one and in happy-go-lucky goalscoring form, they made a meal of our obvious shortcomings and we need to do a lot better against Bruges and Burnley.

The overall performance was a letdown, yet I think we're going to be quite disappointed with similar results more often this season. Watch this space.

There was some really concerning sh*t happening on the pitch today. At one point, the squad was all over the place. I do hope we're not going to see the team falter now.

We should've probably gone for another (experienced) centre midfielder and a right-back, but I'm not the manager...

Oh, and Kasper... What on earth were you thinking?
