Vindaloo FOX Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Zieler Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Amartey Drinkwater King/ Mendy if fit Mahrez Slimani Musa
Callabinho Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I foresee a thrashing here. We're shit away from home and they will be wounded following 90 minutes of torture against Liverpool. 4-0 Watford.

ZeGuy Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 A 1-1 draw would be a great result. It depends on how hard the 1-2 defeat against WBA hit the player's morale. I don't see CR writing off this game just because of the Champions League and another away trashing is out of question. It's only Brugge at home and the team rotation will be made there. I think he will go against Watford with the best possible team to his eyes (the XI usual suspects with DD and AK, in the midfield) in 4-4-2. Musa will be benched and I can see Albrighton coming back with Shinji. The only unknown is upfront with either Vardy or Slimani. 2-0 Watford seems to be the most plausible result imo.
TheMightySystem Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Feel free to laugh and I know this would never happen in a million years but I wouldn't mind seeing this. Zieler Simpson Amartey Hernandez Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater Kapustka Musa Okazaki Slimani Amartey played CB in the Cup and looked good there and think he played CB for Copenhagen if I remember correctly. Him and Hernandez can both pass the ball out from the back meaning Drinkwater can stay up the pitch instead of becoming a 3rd centreback while he collects the ball off Morgan who can't pass. Kapustka can run through the midfield being the ball carrier that Kante was and Mahrez and Musa can run at the fullbacks putting in crosses for Slimani. Think Ranieri needs to be brave now and make changes either tactically or in personel.
foxy boxing Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 before the west brom match i would of said an easy three points but i just don't know anymore. they will try and make it a tough game and will get at us and probably follow west brom's blueprint and we need to stop them. we have a lot of pace in the team and need to use it to frighten them and get at their defenders which is the weakest part of their team. get crosses into the box for slimani and we need to be defensively a lot tighter
RowlattsFox Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I think its time to try an attacking midfielder in the 'okazaki' role and see if we can get more control through the middle. I'd go for Gray in behind Slimani, can't be any worse than we've been creatively. Zieler Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Drinkwater Amartey/King - Not sure there is a massive difference Mahrez Gray Musa Slimani

Certainly looks like a more dynamic team than we're playing at the minute. We could have a real couple of gems in Amartey and Hernandez at the back.
adam Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Don't think we should ever see the okazaki and slimani partnership again. Far too slow and predictable. If okazaki plays needs to be with Vardy or Musa.
Wymsey Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 It'll be depressing to lose to these. They seem very hit and miss and don't think a non-English speaking manager will be giving them overall confidence as such.

Chico1958 Posted 12 November 2016 Posted 12 November 2016 As long as this doesn't happen again. I'd settle for a draw at the moment.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 12 November 2016 Posted 12 November 2016 At the moment I'd go with this team I think, I've made a few edits to it. We have a wealth of wide options meaning it's difficult to decipher who should play on the flanks. There's a case for all of wingers; Mahrez as we know is world class on his day, Gray is appealing because of the form he's in (although he looks to be carrying an injury), Musa is a real asset and is getting better & better, Albrighton is fresh having not featured too much recently and Schlupp is the other option too. I could've added to that Kapustka but it's unlikely he will be in the squad. We need to put out a side that isn't going to be tired/fatigued because of international duty, hence why I wouldn't play Okazaki. Again Vardy or Slimani is a tricky one. I think being as we're away from home I'd like to see the 4-3-3 formation, with Drinkwater & Amartey holding in CM and King positioned in CAM allowing him to get forward more and create chances. 4-3-3 Zieler Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Amartey Drinkwater King Albrighton Vardy Musa

He's out of form and teams just sit deep as soon as they see his name. At least with slim we can put some high balls in that's not an option with Vardy. Right now we need options that Vardy don't offer.

It won't happen in a month of Sundays but I like the idea of that side, Amartey would also provide some pace in that back line. Much like our performances, the team selection is becoming all too predictable.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 November 2016 Posted 12 November 2016 Tough game would normally say winnable but the form we are in it isn't
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 November 2016 Posted 13 November 2016 When do matches become 'must win'? I really feel we mustn't lose this game. Watford are one of the more average sides in the Prem and to go away and lose wouldn't be clever.

Like losing at home to wba i get the feeling that the squad are really not considering that they could be involved in a relegation scrap - they probably think they are too good for that! Lose this and Claudio may have to start publically bashing the 40 point mantra again.

Monsell1976 Posted 13 November 2016 Posted 13 November 2016 How a year can change, last season we went to Watford, full of confidence as fans, knowing our team would go out and perform, and likely get a result. This season, we have been poor/ unconvincing, especially away from home, that I cannot see anything but a defeat here. Big game this, a good performance and win, see's us move up the league, and away from the drop, but an unconvincing performance/ result could be very damaging, as I feel confidence the players have is very fragile. I know it's early in the season, and I'm sure we will come good, but we cannot afford to continue in the league like we have, because if we do, negativity creeps in around the club, and could easily be dragged into a relegation battle.

Col I am with you re Amartey totally. However, I think his problems are when players get goal side of him which they do far too easily. Maybe playing at CB he will be able to see everything in front of him if you get what I mean.
