It's really hard to get good players in the window because good players aren't going to be let go by their clubs. This doesn't defend the choices we are going for, but I guess my point is that it's not through the lack of trying.

United signed Vidic and Evra in the January window as well.

Hitesh Posted 30 January 2017 Posted 30 January 2017 What I don't get about this is that a number of clubs around us are throwing a bit of money around to get deals done but we can only muster up a loan deal. Something isn't quite working with our team to close out deals. Agree we shouldn't be paying silly prices but surely we should be able to manage someone with a little more experience? I will of course give this guy a chance and could well be a decent signing but definitely a bit underwhelmed.

January is a horrible month to try and get players in, that's why it's so crucial you do your bit in the summer. Our summer was fairly poor and we're paying the price. Palace are getting a bargain in Milivojevic mind you.

Benaloune (5.6m) couldn't get in the team, out on loan, injured and now starring for the under 23's is now 1st choice back up and Wague played 6 times this season. Was is past it but did a good cameo. Not good enough for premier league champions.
