AKCJ Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 This will cause a lot of jimmies to be rustled from the wanna be ultras we've got on here.
purpleronnie Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Its dangerous to stand in front of seats but they seem incapable of solving that problem. How many people we're injured during the Copenhagen game? Just out of curiosity if anyone knows?
Voll Blau Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Always going to be dangerous in the hands of people who don't know how to use them properly, but personally think they look great. These shite little smokies people keep setting off in concourses can get in the bin though. Pyro should be marine grade at least imo. Haven't seen a proper flare being used by Leicester fans for about 7 years, so not sure who this warning is aimed at.
NewquayFox Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Always going to be dangerous especially down stairs if the front of your stack heel shoes gets stuck in the lining of your Oxford Bags, and even worse if your hands are in your pockets, didn't know flares had made a comeback so I might dig my Wranglers out.....

Splitting hairs but they weren't flares like the ones in that video. The ones they had burned at a much lower temperature, they'd still do some damage if you get on the wrong and of it mind. 'Pyro' in the UK is a bit crap, just go abroad if you want to experience it.
norwichfox Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Do we get a similar safety message regarding police use of Batons on children (allegedly after the Derby 4th round Cup Tie)?
Aus Fox Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 We have safe standing, mybe someone should invent safe Pyro... So the government can ignore the facts and ban that too.

somebum Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 I love flares at football games, this is typical of this pussy country where every cvnt seems to be wrapped in cotton wool. Where is people's sense of adventure? We seem to be scared of everything. Get a grip
leicesterlad1989 Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 I think we should master the art of singing for 90 minutes and creating an atmosphere as per the last 10 games of the 14/15 season and the whole of the 15/16 season, before we discuss flares and pyro. Watching one over excited dickhead wafting a flare over his head does not constitute a better "atmosphere."
Ashley Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 That flare burnt for well over a minute I've seen flares used before not at games also in a correct manner that didn't have the effects of the ones used in the vid?
boots60 Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 While I was looking on in awe at the home game with Copenhagen, thinking what a great display of pyrotechnics, a steward nearby was reprimanding a City fan for smoking an e cigarette. Funny old world.

yorkie1999 Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Seemed fine to me when copenhagon used them at our place. Big brother thinking that maybe football fans can't be responsible.
Ian Nacho Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Says nothing about a smoke bomb, nothing like seeing a blue smoke bomb go off when you've scored.

Isn't one of the main problems that people set them off, then shit themselves that they might get arrested if caught holding it so it gets lobbed forward. Part of the beauty of Copenhagen was that it seemed so organised, they weren't throwing them about like idiots. They were there for effect. Not "look at me I've got a flare... crap I might get hooked for holding it... LOBS."

irishfoxkev Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 Was sitting right at the back of block M for Copenhagen so as close to them as could be...thought they looked great at first but after couple of mins as all the smoke got blown up towards where we were seated it did become unpleasant with acrid smell and irritation to our eyes....they were itchy and tearful for most of the match....maybe that was down to the emotion of the occasion or the dross we played for most of the game ?.....think I will bring a pair of goggles for Seville match just in case
Stadt Posted 3 February 2017 Posted 3 February 2017 There's too many cameras in the ground to let flares off, not that video is even relevant really because it was the Copenhagen fans the let them off and they were sensible with them. At a few grounds in Europe there's normally a fireman with a bucket of water at the front which shows that if everybody doesn't overreact then they can be used safely.
