Sevilla (H) Pre-Match Thread

Recommended Posts

Just beaten a very poor Liverpool side on the night who came with suicide tactics and Hull who are pants and will get relegated

Still don't look like keeping a clean sheet

Think the break has actually come at a bad time as we might just lose a bit of momentum ?

Yes things are a million percent better but think we need to be realistic about our chances against a top quality team who in effect only probably need to score one goal in 90 mins

Who dares wins, or might have a much better chance than who doesn't dare. We've got our energy and momentum back and that's potentially scary for anyone. Vardy flat out in a team of terriers - they won't have experienced much of that in the heat of Seville.

Fancy a 3-1 Leicester win to complete the hat-trick.

But the last 20 minutes will see Sevilla hit the woodwork twice and Kasper save another penalty as they desperately search for that elusive second away goal.

It will be the most tense and horrible 20 minutes we will all ever witness, and we may all spontaneously combust when the final whistle signals a 3-1 win.

If they score once we need to score twice. Second time I've seen a poster suggest a goal for Sevilla would be enough for them and it absolutely wouldn't.

I'm realistic and I anticipate we will go out. However, now is the time to relax and enjoy the build up and what we hope will be a colossal evening at the KP. We can play without fear because we have already exceeded our wildest ambitions frankly. A delicious prospect.

Hmmm.... how will you score if Sevilla decides to play it safe with 3 DM's and keep possession while seeking to counter (same like vs. Lyon and Juve away in group stage). It's a wrong approach as a fan to see everything as black and white. Sevilla wants to go through also. We're not Barca to attack 90 minutes for the sake of the prestige.... we want to go through and get any result that is necessary to do that. You will actually not believe how ugly and boring the game will get, while you'll be disappointed to not make any clear chance on goal because of the lack of gaps for counters or surprise attacks. The most you could actually do is set pieces, and Sevilla are great at defending them (this season at least).

It will be nothing like the first match where you saw that fast pace attacking and Futsal-alike movement. For the sake of your expectations, just refer to the games of Lyon vs. Sevilla and Juve vs. Sevilla in groups, if you have the nerve to watch them and you'll have a better understanding of what to expect for this return leg.

May the best team go through anyway!

I would be impressed if you could do that. What you'll see from us is the frenzied English style, high tempo, direct play and it's all about winning the second phase of possession. When we play well, it's not all about counter attack. It's what some in Spain would call ugly. Like our game at home to Porto, it was a scrap.

Either way its going to be quite a spectacle.

This will be a seriously hard game, we need to come out of the traps quick as an early goal really would put the cat amongst the pigeons. Play high pressing counter first half and resort to filth and ugly if chasing. Should be a night to remember whatever the result.

Don't underestimate Leicester . Vardy and mahrez are back drinky looking good . But as you say may the best team win. But I will be interesting hope the ref is invisible though ?

Not underestimating at all. But I'm afraid, and just as predicted in the first leg about a narrow win of Sevilla, the return one will be a boring and at times ugly game, because we (not proud btw) can make it such when needed. It's our time to kill the game off, and I doubt Leicester could score more than 1, but that is all what is needed so... it will again be tight. Any of these results will go:  0-0, 1-1, 1-0...
