POLICE quizzed a Premier League star yesterday on suspicion of beating his wife.

Nigerian international Ahmed Musa, a £16million forward with champions Leicester City, was nicked at his home at 1am.

Neighbours said officers had spent two hours there.

Ten hours later two plain-clothed women officers arrived at the £850,000 five-bedroom detached property in the city’s Countesthorpe area.

It is believed they spent another two hours taking a statement from his wife Jamila, mum to Musa’s two young children Ahmed Jnr and Halima

Police confirmed they held Musa, 24, on suspicion of common assault.

Musa arrived at Leicester last July from CSKA Moscow, becoming at the time the Foxes record signing after their 5,000-1 fairytale Premier League title win.

But he has struggled for form, starting only seven league games this season before manager Claudio Ranieri was fired as the side slumped.

This isn't great :(

WTF?? I had to check the date on the article just to make sure... nope, not published on April 1st..

There's something dodgy about him. Lots of politics and drama around Musa in the Nigerian NT too, being stripped of captaincy and then pressured into giving up vice-captaincy. Not seen Musa even once in the multiple selfie pics and videos Ndidi posted of the NT having fun together during the last international break.

Ndidi may have to get a taxi to the airport for away games now, as Musa had been driving him there... hope this doesn't affect his form!

He has the right to a presumption of innocence. I hope for him, his wife and their children this isn't what it looks like but we shall see. Up to the police now.

Rest of the club doesn't need to deal with this rubbish though. If this looks legit I don't want him playing against Everton.

Look at his Instagram post from 1am. Why would he be posting a happy birthday message to his wife whilst being nicked? Clickbait from The Sun IMO

Edit: Beaten (sorry) to it
