What do the fans expect when they're acting like tits towards a police force who have a huge reputation.

It wasn't difficult to keep out of it unless you were sitting at the bar where the dickheads were standing. It's those i feel sorry for.

I have to agree with your second statement

The number of poor fans that got smacked with a baton several times for doing no more than standing by a table that happened to be around the area where the trouble flared up was unreal!

I managed to avoid getting a beating by jumping onto one of the concrete seats. Others were not so lucky.

Though to to be fair even fans not in areas full with dickheads still got a smack.

What is clear:

we have a small minority of supporters that have let themselves and the club down and put others in danger.

Spanish police have overreacted and innocent supporters have been injured as a result.

We have many supporters who cannot fa them two sides to a story and both sides may be at fault.

Its not a case of stay out of the way and you won't get involved, from my understanding all supporters with tickets were asked to meet in the square to be escorted to the ground.

When there is a baton wielding approach and you are hitting all with a blue shirt, all that is going to happen isnothers get antagonised. Leading to more trouble flaring up.

The whole situation has been blown out from a few idiots, to treating all like animals.

To the supporters who have gone out their with the intention of trouble and winding up the locals you are just as responsible for the events as the police and I hope your proud.

What gets me is were there no Leicester/English police there who could readily identify potential troublemakers before it kicks off and assist the Spanish police in taking these morons off the streets before the drunken herd mentality sets in which those too drunk or stupid to know better seem all too ready to follow....If people on here can pick these ring leaders out from     video clips surely a few ITK U.K. Police mingling with our fans could have spotted them and helped prevent some of the innocents who were just in the wrong place being hit by the over zealous Spanish thugs in uniform ...

There will be police from Leicester there however only 2-3 and they will most likely be under cover to feed back intel re known trouble makers.

Doesn't help that beer's 30p a can.

I never saw it that cheap but the butchers next to Starbucks leading to the plaza was selling pint cans of San Miguel for 1€30 until he sold out :D

As for the trouble, you could tell from 4:30pm onwards it was going to happen, beer throwing, cans next, then the flares and blue smoke bomb, they'll only take so much, certainly cleared the area of the muppets though.

Before I went, got several messages from different folk stating how brutal the Spanish police were and that they would act with, or without, good reason.

Sounds like a bit of both took place. But from a risk perspective, those congregating at Plaza Mayor were always putting themselves in unnecessary danger. Naive at best.

Turned his life around haha. I hope he does get banned as i am sure he has no interest in the club himself and is doing nothing more than bringing shame upon it.

Give him credit though, he must have spent most of Tuesday T-Cutting them teeth.

Hahahahaa who is this you're talkin about?

WE were in the square just before the trouble started and left because we could tell it was starting to get out of hand. The Spanish Police were spoiling for a fight and about 50 of our louts gave them all the excuse they needed. It was a shame as the Atletico fans were great and we were given a great reception by them.

Damage reported on both sides, it isn't just fans with injuries. At least we have made a formal complaint.

http://www.policeprofessional.com/news.aspx?id=29026

Leicester City has lodged an official complaint as eight of its travelling Champions League supporters were arrested following clashes with police that ended with two officers and three rival fans being injured.

I Plan to send an open letter to Madrid Police
