Kapustka to Freiburg - Now Agreed

he is precisely the sort of talent we need to nurture. Had some of the best touch on the team. Let's see what he's learned during the pre-season, and loan him out if he isn't yet ready. Send him to the Championship, it's plenty physical down there, and his talent can shine, build his confidence some.

Yeah, what better way to build a scrawny foreiners confidence than loaning him to a team a division below where he signed and getting 7 shades of shit beaten out of him by oafs.

Certainly smarter than quitting on a talented 20-year old.

Depends what you mean by smarter. It's a risky strategy as in that environment he could buckle and then we lose the chance to get a decent fee for him.

So long as we don't sell him yet, he was only what, 7.4 million? We signed him for 5 years, young internationals tend to keep their value, certainly even if he had a rough go of it we could recoup all but a few million on him. Hell, teams are considering handing LC a profit for Musa, have a hard time seeing Kap do anything but appreciate in value.

Besides, once Mahrez goes we will be in the market for attacking MFs. I especially do not want to see the team give up on a guy on the roster who has the talent to potentially fill a real need. If we obviate that need, it may become a different story. Though I'd keep the guy, he is a long-term investment, if he matures and becomes consistent, he will be a Premier League player.

Watched him plenty of times for the U21's and he was bullied in almost every game. Every time it was put on him he would just go missing so I dread to think how he would hold up in the Championship.

Clearly a talented lad but not suited to the pace and physical nature of the English game.

Let him go but with a sell on %

Haven't we been playing him in cm rather then cam in the U23s? Seemed to do well in the fa cup when he found space in the cam role, picked out some nice passes that should have been assists. Will be disappointed if he goes but I'll trust Shakespeare on what he wants to do with him. He can't spend another season at U23 level though, his career is stagnating.

surely instead of just selling him, wouldnt it be better on the whole to loan him out until say Jan, make sure hes assessed and everything at the end of the loan/during, to see if hes showing improvement etc, if not upto the level LCFC want then maybe think of selling him

WTF is a 'roster'? It's called a 'squad'. We'll be calling it soccerball next

May be swop him for West Ham's 5th Round draft pick?

What's that tweet mean

Means he'll go on loan to Freiberg and they can buy him for 6m at the end if they want.

Would rather he just go on loan without the purchase clause tbh.

Yup it says he's expected in Freiburg tomorrow or on Saturday

It's a loan with the 6 mil buy out clause

Apparently that's a legit Polish journo who covers Bundesliga for a major football magazine in Poland so I'd say the source is legit. Good news for Kapi I guess at least he should feature in this Freiburg side much more often, but 6 mil would be a poor piece of business for us. Still hope there's a future for him at Leicester even though it doesn't look like it atm

Can we reject the 6m offer?

Not if that's the deal, no.

If the deal is loan with purchase option, the transfer fee will be set.

If its 6 mill and the club meet it, we accept it.

Personally, I don't get this love affair with some of our younger players. I've not seen much of Kaputska but every time I have I've just been unimpressed.

Freiburg's a great place for young players to develop, they've made quite a name for themselves with their excellent youth academy. Might even go to a home game now (it's not too far off from where I live). I wish him well and hope that either we get to cash in big time should the SCF take him on on a permanent, or that he comes back bigger, better and stronger.

I dont think our quoted 8m fee for the kid was all upfront and had extra built in for appearances. Thus selling at 6m is likely what we actually paid for him. Realistically with Barnes and Gray in the squad I don't see him becoming a regular for us. I think German football will suit a lot more as Polish players tend to do well there. Still a bit gutting because the player that we saw at the last Euros looked extremely promising.
