Arsenal Match Thread

We've looked to contain and see what scraps fall our way so far, fine when it's nil-nil. Hopefully keep it tight until the hour mark and then throw men forwards as they tire.

Yet Mahrez has had two of our three opportunities so far this game. By contrast, what has Ulloa contributed?
I get frustrated with Mahrez too at times, but his quality is undoubted and when you create as little as we do, you need someone like him to create something.
I think Gray and Mahrez can both play in the same team, but it does require Mahrez to adapt to a more central role.

Ulloa has done nothing, Slimani is a better player by miles.

Can see him going Brighton in the summer for a reunion.

Weird to think we are only 7 points above relegation and yet a win tonight puts us into 9th.

You're hopeful. We won't ride out this half playing the same tactics

Match threads are the most negative place in the world. Not the greatest half but we have basically nullified them offensively whilst having a couple of chances ourselves. Tactically this game is probably going exactly how Shakey wants it to

Oh curb your hyperbole please...

Stringer =keep your eyes on Walcott =bit difficult on the radio .

and I don't need to know that we would be attacking the family stand end if we were at KP

Gray and Chilwell would allow LCFC to field a balanced attack. If we don't want to be so aggressive as to start Chilly on the road, fine, but we are far more effective in the attack with some balance opposite Mahrez. We just keep refusing to play with any semblance of aggression, instead being content to watch Mahrez get swarmed because we insist on fielding such a basic, paint-by-numbers attack.

That second half against Athletico showed what some balance can do. We were an entirely different team. At this point in the season, on the road against a top side, this is the time to play aggressively.

The Emirates is just a mini Wembley, isn't it? I don't mean that as a compliment. Everything that is piss poor about the new Wembley is recreated here on 2:3 scale. The lack of an atmosphere, the disgusting pricing, the posh wankers in the middle tier who don't come out for the second half, the sanitised, packaged match day experience... it's all right there.

On a completely different subject, where's Musa these days? Didn't AFCON end months ago?

He had to go to Nigeria to arrange a new wife.

Though I appreciate what seems a clear effort to retain possession when moving the ball forward. It isn't going as smoothly as we'd like, but practice makes perfect and all that, it is an important area of growth available to us.

Can help feeling this game is inevitably set up for a Wellbz sucker punch. He did it last year and we aren't showing enough as an attacking force to discourage Wenger from throwing him on. As always we show the Arse too much respect at their ground.

Albrighton has had a great mini season since Shakespeare took over but he's been bollocks tonight with the ball.

We've got no composure when we do win it back.

Were going forward like a team sat comfortably mid table, liven it up for fks sake! Lose Ulloa, put Gray on for pace and greater attacking threat. No need for Leo at present not his type game.
