The most improved player since last season

I'm going to throw a curve ball out there. I recon its our last season weakest link Danny Simpson. He's done good this season and his reading of the game is much improved. Even his passing out of defence is the least hoofball like of the back line now matching Fuchs.

Its a well done to Danny boy from me.

Obviously not a lot can improve from last seasons campaign but Benalouane has done terrifically since been called upon, to play no games for about a year then come in like he has says something

Simpson is underrated. He is so consistent and, ultimately, a good defender. He has proved to be a good signing and I like him.

We have had problems with full backs for years but not now.

Naughton was good and Berner was solid - both in the Championship of course - but I'd go as far as saying Simpson is our best right back since Grayson (though I was a big fan of Sinclair) and I cannot recall a better left back than Fuchs in my time of following the club.

He was fantastic last season too, you know exactly what you'll get from him everyweek. He'll win the majority of his duels, he's solid if not spectacular.

Simpson is our most consistent player, and I'd say the best defensive RB in the Prem.

Schmeichel for me .....he was unbelievable last year but has still improved again this season so much that I would not swap him for any other keeper.

Brilliant in Champions League and so consistent.

Best years still to come and hopefully at the KP!!

A leader too who is missed so

much when unavailable and would be impossible to replace.

You have to say that Simpson is the most defensively solid RB in the country- possibly the worst in the league in an attacking sense, but he's good enough at what he does for that to be acceptable.

His style fits the way we play perfectly- some may say that he stands off too much, but he very rarely gets skinned, and ultimately either holds up the attack or forces the winger to put a cross in, which the CBs are pretty good at defending. The amount of times he's been in exactly the right place at the right time to get a touch on the ball to save a certain goal is pretty incredible- positionally, he's excellent.

Maybe if we are to change the way we play then we may need another option, but there's no doubt that he's been one of our best players this season.

I wouldn't say Simpson has improved as he was never our "weakest link". He's been a fantastic and very underrated player for us for the past 2 seasons.

Couldn't believe in the summer when people were saying we need to "upgrade" on Simpson and Albrighton after the brilliant seasons they'd had - and they've probably been our best 2 outfield players this season, both so underappreciated in just how good they were last season, I think people are finally just starting to see them as the great players they are for us now rather than them improving or anything.

I think Benalouane is probably a good shout.

Simpson is a very intelligent defender. In an era of attacking full backs who can't defend for shit it's nice to have an actual RB who knows how to defend. He's bailed out his CBs many times by covering them well. He's got excellent positional sense and his reading of the game is outstanding. Shame he's got zero attacking capabilities. Then again, if he could attack he wouldn't have left Man Utd.

Kasper Schmeichel without question, end of conversation.

Just gets better and better every game, for me in the top 10 keepers in the world right now. With some amazing CL performances behind him now.

Before I start.  Many youngsters, suprisingly not the grumpy old men, over analyse individual mistakes in single games...

So various perspectives do crop up, that go really OTT.

Simpson...

Too many underrated him in the 1st place, just because in their opinion, he didnt charge down the line.

Went up another notch this season, one of the best across backline defenders, in PL.

Banalaoune.. Bloody worked hard, had patience, proved to all he his a good honest PL defender.

We really dont know if he has improved, he never really had a chance.

Think how much pressure our BL comes under pressure every game, compared to

any other, mistakes or just bounce of the ball  events, will create themselves openings.

Even in this seasons dark days, with incompetent tactics, we had a couple of drubbings

Pre -xmas, but our defenders had to put up with a lot of sht.Dished it out themselves  with forgettable performances.

But even then, has more like now, done a good job, since January a top job.We improved more than our competitors.

Huth.  Since Febuary, might even be better than last season.Him refinding his own form, consolidated the defence.and team.

Albrighton.. Again many underrated him  anyway. Next to Simpson brought last seasons form into this.

His improvement, were fickle  fans acknowledging and recognising, and respecting what skills he carries

and what these skills and endeavours brings to the team.

Simpson

If it wasn't for Kasper's heroics throughout this season, Simpson would be my player of the season.

I feel half of the reason he is underrated is because he has spent all season clearing up morgans/Huths mistakes.

Since benny has come in simpson has improved massively.

Got to be Simpson, started off the season thinking it was imperative that we got a new right back, but now the season is almost over Danny has proved me wrong. So consistent.

Richie De Laet ?

Fuchs is top of the shop.
