Mahrez to .......................?

Recommended Posts

Arsenal can't sign Mahrez for a little while because they have the maximum number of non-homegrown players permitted. They'll need to get rid of some before they can sign any more.

Another factor, surely Arsenal would want ONE English player in their starting eleven? Without Walcott on the right they'd be struggling to have one.

I know it doesn't happen a lot in England anymore but I'd be asking for the Ox and maybe Wheelchair as part of any deal. Get them fit which to be fair, we have a history of being able to do. They'll improve us.

Giving Jack Wilshere any kind of high end salary would be absolute madness! There's playing half heartedly, and there's not playing at all.

All that means is they try and push Perez on to us plus £30 million. It's a yes from me. Forget Deeney and Iheanacho. Perez would be class here.

I'd love this but you don't see many player exchanges nowadays

On his day, he's world class..I've said that before and genuinely think it.

But have we, as a team, relied too much on giving him the ball and expecting him to do something brilliant with it time after time after time? We saw last season that he was a known quantity..he was being man marked and doubled up on, many times.

Hes said he wants out, and I'm not sure I'd want to keep a player who has said he wants it. There is no bigger indication of his heart not being in the club, than that.

It would be interesting to see who we brought in, how we changed our style of play, who flourished etc, if the reliance WASNT on Mahrez anymore.

And if we got, say, 40 mill for him, that could be used on buying our marquee player (whoever that was) to start off a new stage in the club's development.

Agree with the sentiment but we desperately need some creativity in this squad. I'd be more confident selling Mahrez provided we have a replacement whether it be a winger or a no10. Someone with the ability to create something out of nothing.

Even last season with all that additional scrutiny, he still had moments where he found a pass or a goal with not a lot on (thinking Hull at home or the cross at home to Porto).

Would be the best deal but Wenger is too tight for that.

He'll try Perez + charging us 5 Million if anything.

This is amusing.

He should have put a shift in from the very first game of last season instead of prancing about like some wannabe footballing legend.  I read today that he'd want Messi in his dream team.  lol

He's got no chance of getting anywhere near a team Messi is in.

Hence why it is a "dream" team? No one is going to be dreaming about playing with Ulloa or King, are they?

Sorry but this isn't true, Premier League player registrations don't work like this.

A club can sign as many non-homegrown players as they like but can only register a maximum of 17 with the PL. The 17 Arsenal registered last season include players who have already left, are strongly linked to leaving, or simply didn't play due to injury or falling out of favor.

Player registrations aren't due for quite a while yet but I'd speculate that Arsenal won't register the likes of Santi Cazorla (out until April next year at the earliest) Debuchy (played 16 mins last season and is likely to have his contract terminated) and at least one of Lucas Perez/David Ospina depending on sales.

5 weeks and a day till we face Arsenal ... will Mahrez be playing for them, us or somebody else ?

The clock is ticking. You've got to hit the ground running to succeed in this league.... the longer it drags

on the more it has a detrimental effect on both clubs.

Report is the Arse aren't prepared to go to £35mn for Mahrez, That's about 3/4 of one Stirling. Cheap for a recent footballer of the year and 17 goal midfielder. It'll be interesting if the owners demonstrate their no need to sell anyone claims.

Hi lads, gooner coming in peace, just been reading the article about Kelechi going to you guys, quality young signing that, percy also mentioned in the article that AFC have spoke to leicester about mahrez, but leicester want 50m, and arsenal value him at 35.

I personally think this deal could be concluded within the 40m+ range, 43m is my guess.

Once Riyad sees we're assembling a better squad than yours he'll want to stay.

Good to hear we are playing hard ball. No rush to sell. Bring him on at The Emirates after 60 mins and let him show them what they're missing. 3 points and £50 mill for us. Lovely...

No, I think if we can add a few more attacking threats (like we seem to be doing) Mahrez will come alive with added freedom. We were so one dimensional last season it was pathetic. Id love him to stay.

There'll be a bargain basement sale that will make sports direct look like harrods once we have to cough up 300million to bail out king power.

... and Premiership winner, and member of the team that progressed further in the Champions League than any other British team. His price should be going up and up.

Well if that's their valuation of him they'll have to look elsewhere. We can't be held to ransom. Time to buck your ideas up Riyad and get back to being a footballer
