Mahrez doesn't have a release clause and 3yrs still to run so we have all the power regardless of what the player and his agent want. 

His agent can agree terms with whatever club he likes but unless they stump up our asking price he won't go anywhere especially this early in the window.

 

 

If he really wants to leave and someone pays our asking price or close to it.  I don't see us standing in his way.  We have done a good job in finding value in the market and no one is irreplaceable.  I don't want to see him leave but players come and players go.  we as fans come up with lots of suggstions that we should sell lots of our player, like Mendy and Slimani but when someone comes in for one of ours all hell breaks out.

Just like there are no stats telling how many times a player only showed up for 5 minutes - yet played 90. 

Or how many times a player runs head first into a three on one, thinking he can get around them rather than pass to an open player.

Yes contractually he is obliged to return. But just wondering if he might start playing silly games. Hope not as if he doesn't act professionally it will cause further problems for us and him.

Mahrez played enough silly games on the pitch for most of last season.

Calling Guiediora a donkey (though true) is not very nice. As for Algeria dropping Mahrez, come off it, he's the only reason people know Algeria have a national team. 

 

Mahrez, is the only world class player you have, you should be more appreciative. Having said that, give our coaches a few more months with Slimani, and we will sort him out too so you can jump on this forum in a couple of years and tell us how we should bow down and let him move to Arsenal too.

Agree with this - The lad isn't that daft but the statement he released absolutely reeks of poor advice.

 

Someones been blowing smoke up him looking to take a slice of the transfer fee but it looks like its massively backfired - nobody wants the lad.

not true before Leicester's Mahrez we had players in Inter Milan, AC Milan, ss Napoli, Tottenham, Lyonnais  , Porto , Valencia ......

I still think he'll go and it will be for a fee that none of us think reflects his proper value.

I maintain its not easy for any player to stay at a club when they publically state they want out.

I think clubs are biding their time, knowing that he wants to leave and will make offers nearer the start of the season.

Probably Arsenal.

Agents constantly exaggerate/invent interest in their players in order to get them (and by extension the agents themselves) more money from their existing clubs. In other words, exaggeration and invention are their stock-in-trade – part of the air that they breathe. They’re chancers – it’s just what they do. It would therefore not be surprising if Mahrez’s agent has been exaggerating the level of interest from other clubs to Mahrez himself, and just hoping that an offer may come through. It keeps his client happy and makes it look like he’s doing his job. Hence that stupid statement.

 

Mahrez is an excellent player on his day, but his performances last season would have created some doubts about his temperament. I can’t see any club paying £50m for him (which is what we are reportedly asking for), but at the same time I don’t think Leicester will let him go on the cheap – and £35m would be cheap. Obviously it could go either way, but personally I think he may well still be with us when the transfer window shuts.

What the hell are you talking about mate? Sure Mahrez is probably our most successful player in recent times, but we were in the Round of 16 in the last world cup in a very good game versus Germany whilst without Mahrez (well he was a sub/reserve). England didn't even make it out of the group stage.

 

Also, Mahrez is not our most successful player of all time or our only world class player by any means, Rabah Madjer is. His goal that won the 1987 European Cup:

 

Just because your culture is limited to Europe does not mean that our national team is unknown. 

 

Also while i wouldn't want him benched, I don't think we would collapse without him. We have a lot of right wingers (notably feghouli and ghezzal) as the case with Leicester (Gray and Tom Lawrence)

 

Look at Messi for example, arguably the best player yet he doesn't do anything with Argentina. One player's capacity is not the most important aspect of a football team.
