Foxxed Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 100 pages and he stays, or he goes? I'm confused on the forum etiquette here. Are we even tracking any decent replacements? We'll have Musa, Albrighton and Gray. Most want Musa gone. And it's looking like Gray should be up front.

Wonder how Riyad feels about being a back-up option. If Wenger does come a-knocking, the directors need to show a bit of resolve, and they could get a decent fee! Regarding Lemar, the phrase 'derisory offer' might well have been specifically coined for Arse 'n Arsene to describe their bidding strategy ! Lemar could go there, Arsenal just need to up the bid, but typical Arsenal trying to buy players with stupidly low bids knowing them theyd probably bid £25mil for Riyad and think its a decent bid

Dames Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 For someone so fiercely ambitious he's going to have to accept he was the back up option of the back up option if he goes somewhere - Thats going to have to have hurt his pride a lot. He should just stay - He won't have it better anywhere else.
Lesta Legend Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 Well it seems that Mahrez is simply a backup option for Arsenal. That half assed effort last year seemingly looks a bit myopic and dumb now.
Moksky Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 No fresh news other than an official offer coming according to my contacts within Arsenal circa £30m
SheppyFox Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 30m sounds a bit cheap to me, mind you low balling a first offer is nothing new I suppose.

He can get away with patchy work rate and attitude in our team because he's surrounded by players that will cover him. My point was that Arsenal is full of top quality players with a similar attitude and look where is has got them. Signing players like Mahrez is exactly the reason that Arsenal have struggled to challenge for a title for years. Pretty much spot on. A team can only support one creatively brilliant, but defensively iffy flair player at best . Any more and there'll be more holes in it than Maasdammer cheese. With Ozil and Welbeck already in that mould Arsenal would be takjng an expensive gamble assuming we've made it perfectly clear all round that we want proper market value for the guy otherwise he's going nowhere. In today's market I'd see £40m-£45m as about right, given the thanks he deserves in helping us win the title.

Reality ... he'll be back here for training soon and will have Appleton chasing his scrawny arse all round the training ground. Welcome back Riyad ! ...

Fox 4 Life Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 Mahrez you got your dream move mate, "Plan B" for a team that will be finishing 5th at best for the foreseeable future Oh well at least you have that premier league medal to show them all, none of that lot will be winning one anytime soon!
Bazly Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 The chief embroiderer at the Emirates is apparently tasked with putting his name on one of the pitch side seats. He is being given a larger than normal seat to fit a charging point and space for at least two teddy bears.

Ted Maul Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 I'm not sure I understand Arsenal's approach here... So they bid about £30m for Lamar, get the knock back and then bid the same amount for Mahrez, who they know they won't get for that. Surely Lamar is their first choice if they went in for him first? Will they go back for him with a higher offer, or pursue Mahrez? Arsenal's transfer policy is a joke- everyone knows they've got ridiculous money from the big stadium & most expensive ticket prices in the world, large fanbase and merchandise sales, the biggest TV deal ever, spending years having a lower wage structure than the rest of the big clubs... You're fooling nobody Mr Wenger, everyone knows you're loaded and you won't be getting your targets on the cheap. Learn your lessons and pay the asking prices, you prat.

Put a silly bid in to show laughing boy that someone wants him and harden his resolve to leave ... his agent will be getting all excited (£££) and tout him round more saying "Arsenal want him so if you do too you'd better get in there quick !!" ... and as a bonus, if we want rid and thats the only offer, we might let him go for somewhere near that figure ... However, I've got every confidence in the owners and would guess they would tell Arsehole to ****off.
