There isn't a winger in the world that we could attract that is better than Mahrez. Agree I hope he's still with us when the window closes, he's a top achiever in our best ever years

There isn't a winger in the world that we could attract that is better than Mahrez. No one will surely pay £50m. Does he want to get his finger out is the big question. Does he want to be here? Can he actually motivate himself, when he couldn't before? We cannot afford to pander to this guy if he is here again next season, there were far too many games when effectively we were playing with 10 men. As far as I am concerned he's not a team player, he doesn't care about the club enough to want to be here so ffs get rid of him.

There isn't a winger in the world that we could attract that is better than Mahrez. 50m last year? Probably. Maybe even more. 50m now? Be lucky. He's proven he's inconsistent, he's proven he struggles when he's a marked man, he's proven his effort can be lacking when things aren't going the team's way. I love Riyad, he's the most technically audacious and at times thoroughly enjoyable player that we've ever had the good fortune to have here and it blows my mind the impatience he sees from some of our more cretinous fans. But when you try and see through our bias, you have to accept he has some flaws that massively curb his value. Plus he wants to leave, our owners clearly won't refuse to sell and have him sulking the place out and clubs know all of that. I hope we get as much as we can, I see Sterling go for 50 odd a few years ago and I think Riyad is worth a lot more. But I know in my heart that not being English and us not being Liverpool, we're almost sure to be underwhelmed with how little we get.
Ric Flair Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 I think he'll end up staying and his career with stagnate even further. We'll fcuk him off for £14 million next summer.

Percy was probably going round trying to dig out info yesterday. In his twitter message to Bert, didn't Percy say he thinks the Mahrez deal is imminent? Now his article says its not imminent/Arsenal are just sounding out a move . Imo it sounds like Percy isn't sure. He has got things wrong about us before.

I think probably one of Percy's sources told him it was imminent, so he went around asking other sources whether they had heard the same. Evidently he's since found a reliable Arsenal source (co author of the article) who has told him it isn't. Wasn't going to happen until they decide what they're doing with Sanchez anyway.
st albans fox Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 According to sky, Arsenal have had bids rejected for both lacazette and lemar. Given that it was publicised that they knew the sums required to get these two and given that Arsenal have the money, it's clear that wenger just can't help himself when it comes to his famous 'value for money' principles. He had to cough up in the end last summer for both xhaka and mustafi - if he is interested in Riyad then it's going to be a long old process squeezing the fee out of them.
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 As stated above ... hope the owners play hard ball ... they have the financial clout to just let him play in the reserves if they want ... hope it doesn't come to this as on his day he is a magical player and will never forget his overall contribution. But just be really disappointed in the ever growing power the player and agent have if he went for a fee less than £40 million.
mozartfox Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 11/10 on Skybet that this thread makes 100 pages. I have just lumped on 50 Euros.

lgfualol Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 Wenger has been trying to buy a Leicester player for years. He'll stump up the cash.
Wymsey Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 Have a feeling we won't sell unless we get someone/a target in to replace him. Gray has strong potential, but not sure on his decision-making at times and leaves the team slightly short out wide.

I say get a number 10 and Silva and change to 3-5-1-1 with n'didi, drinky and Silva in midfield, Ben and Marc as wingbacks and a number 10 behind vardy.

And stop with all this 'he was doubled up on' nonsense- there were countless occasions where he had acres and still couldn't/wouldn't pick a pass. He's a legend for 2015/16, but we won't miss what we got out of him last season. Did you not watch the champions league?
urban.spaceman Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 How depressing would it be for Riyad to state that he's "fiercely ambitious" only to end up at ARSENAL?! Stay with us Riyad, you know it makes sense. Give us one more season, and give us the performances we had from our title winning season, then you can have your big move to a proper club.
mozartfox Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 The only positive that can come out of this is that Wenger is forced to stump up a very large wedge.. Must be so frustrating that little old Leicester do not have to drop their pants on this..
Ted Maul Posted 28 June 2017 Posted 28 June 2017 1 hour ago, kyleolly said: His cousin said on Facebook he's ? joining arsenal Is this the guy who a female Arsenal fan on twitter messaged about a potential transfer last summer? He told her he was going there, then sent her a dick pic.
