Most of this thread seems to be 'Everton or not to Everton - that is the question?'.

Will be surprised if he doesn't go to them, now.

sky reporting we're still interested, so like I said earlier, I'm expecting this to go to deadline day, think we're just waiting in the shadows to see what everton will offer and then outbid them, surely the reason they haven't already wrapped up this deal is because they can't afford the outlay of cash required and are just hoping Swansea give in to a lower fee?

Snap both Chelsea 's arms off and take 37m for Drinkwater,  add a mere 13m to that and get this guy in...

Different league to DD!..

Rudders... You know it makes sense!

You'd take an overpriced sulker? Mahrez is taking an insane amount of stick because he said he wants out whilst still being professional and giving his best on the pitch, yet people don't have any problem splashing 50M on a diva only good at free kicks? Beats me.

I'd rather keep DD.

Well let's make em pay the fucher then. Maybe they'll stop buying every cvnt then.

Test If he really wants to go to the toffees offer £55m make them pay through the nose for him !!

its a bit like that crappy storage wars the way other clubs bid more to make the other team pay over the odds !!?

If we bid 50 then everton will follow and he will go there

Well let's do that, let's put them in that position, to spite them if anything.

Hello - it doesnt matter what we offer - if the player doesn't want to come here then it isn't happening

I may be wrong but didn't Kante publicly say he didn't want to come to Leicester.

Money talks.

We have spent £50 million this window (net) which is the largest amount outside the Manchester Clubs when you take it account that nothing has been received apart from a small amount for Zieler.

We are going to need a domino effect from selling either Mahrez or Drinkwater before I can see the Gyfi transfer happening. We have heard nothing to suggest he wants to come but a generous contract might help.Would be a brilliant window if it could be done however and I would not rule it out.

Gylfi supplying balls into Vardy, Nacho, Slim... I'm just popping down to the underwear store to pick up some new boxers because these ones are covered in jizz.

Yes, we need all three forwards IMO. Variety FFS, we need it in the worst way. No more plan A send Jamie on a bit of a chase, plan B get the ball to Mahrez and let him go 1-on-3. Good enough to win the league when nobody took us seriously, but the squad needs to evolve tactically.

Shakey has shown he likes that three forward look when behind, but we can do with a bit more of that when level or ahead as well. Slot in a Gylfi-type behind them, add another CB who can bring it out, we'd see our time of possession increase significantly as we begin to pressure teams to collapse. Gylif would be another signing who is flexible, slot him as an AMC, then let him move to the left wing for the bit, then let him play the forward as Nacho drops back, change the looks, keep the defense confused and stressed, force decision fatigue and mistakes. Vardy's skill set has been used primarily to knife behind the backs to score goals, but with so many complementary threats on the field, Jamie would have so much more space to work in, he could do some of what the younger Hazard was doing with his little give and goes, even simple things like laying the ball off to a Gylfi on the left then sprinting to space for the pass at the top of the box, with Slim ready for a back post run and Nacho vacating the center for a feint towards goal to clear out the CB, we can get quite intricate timing our runs and opening holes in the defense. But we need one more piece. Let Drinky go for 35 mill or so and get an AM who is above avg with set pieces in immediately.

Hell, even just adding reliable set piece execution would probably get this team half a goal more per game. Gylfi really checks all the boxes, how we didn't close on him last season I'll never understand.

Where would we play him? Iheanacho is number 10.

Maybe we were priced out of a move and Nacho was 2nd choice

Nacho and him don't play at the same post. He'd take DD's place.

But it won't happen. He wants to Everton and never ever showed any sign of interest towards us. Money won't talk, if the player doesn't want to come, he won't. Period. On the top on that he's on strike to force the move. Do we really really need someone like that? Are we that desperate?

Nacho plays the Shinji role very well. Gylfi plays the middle or the left very well, AMC, AML, LW. He can slot right in at LW and play like Mahrez in a 4-4-2.

Best I think would be to add a CB and then play some 3-5-2, with Ndidi and Iborra/James in front of the backs, and Gylfi flanked by two wing-backs, likely Albrighton and Chilwell. That would be really potent I expect, and very solid defensively. Otherwise, AMs are often allowed to roam a bit, if we're disciplined elsewhere, he can sort of just play in the middle in support of our forwards.

He would play in the middle of the park. But he would also be an option as a second striker, just behind the strikers or on the wing.

You repeat this line ad nauseam but have given no evidence at all that Giffy doesn't want to come here. Can you oblige?
