Innit. We're far too nicey nicey when it comes to transfers. It's about time we starting winding up / trolling some other teams with some joke bids, pushing up prices and unsettling players. Everyone ****s us about and we do nothing in return. About time we threw a few punches for the lolz.

All for it in one way. But then do we end up with clubs that would not even sell us shite for our roses. Just like hull a few seasons ago.

If we were to sell Mahrez for 45m overseas, would it be worth it to us to buy Sig from a PL rival... for his assists & goals - Difficult to see where any guile in our team that could make a difference in a tight game

If Chelsea are willing to give us £30m for Drinkwater as rumoured, we should be going straight for Sigurdsson, in my opinion.

BREAKING NEWS

It is understood talks have broken down between Everton and Swansea over a deal for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

We understand a deal is now in jeopardy after more than five weeks of negotiations.

One source has suggested a verbal agreement was reached between the two clubs, only for Everton to withdraw the offer 48 hours later and refer back to a previous offer, understood to be around £40m.

There’s now a fear at Goodison Park that soured relations may scupper the process completely, seriously hampering Ronald Koeman’s and Paul Clement’s planned transfer dealings over the next three weeks.

Sky Sports News understands that the two clubs are less than £5m apart on a fee, with Sigurdsson’s wages not expected to be a problem.

So 45m if that's to be believed. If we lose DD then it's got to be worth it.

If we were serious about getting him we would have put a higher bid in than Everton did. Agree that if DD does leave then this would be a massive signing.

Stick in a bid of £45M now - don't muck about. Pay his required wages then we are in great shape with or without Danny. Personally I'd keep DD, RM (if not one coughs £50M) and win the league again !!!!! Talksport would be in meltdown. ha ha.

My thoughts are....it's a forum and when there's new posts there may be updated info, often not, however if you feel that it won't happen, as I do, like Weller it does not preclude you from comments! In life you don't always get what you want. Oh and sorry if this upsets you but personally I feel he's grossly over priced. If you compare him to what Riyad brings to a team  I genuinely am not sorry, if as intimated, we are not interested in him.

DD is aparently worth 30+ ??? Surely he isn't that far behind sig.

i hope sig goes for 50 mil so it means DD is worth 45, mahrez is worth 70 and that would mean in this climate we would get 7+ for King as a proven prem player and international

2 completely different players, so you can't really compare. But if we're going to then Sigurdsson is not a class above Drinkwater. 

Sigurdsson takes a good set piece and that's about all he has to offer. When on form (admittedly he's inconsistent) Drinkwater has the ability to control the tempo of a game, Sigurdsson has never and will never be able to do that

We have players to cover drinkwaters roll, and he was inconsistent before the title winning season, and reverted back to it last season.

Danny is a good player, but we have Iborra, nididi, who should be more than capable of filling Danny's roll, but we are crying out for a midfielder who can create, and sigurdsson had a very healthy assist rate last season, and previous season, so for me, he's a player we are crying out for, but massively over priced.
