Gylfi Sigurdsson

Would anyone take Ross Barkley? With Rooney already there and Siggy looking like he'll be at Everton too, it looks more and more likely that he will depart.

Not sure I'd take him personally but worth considering. I'd expect he would be in the 30-40m bracket.

Imo we don't even need a player like Gylfi, if we sign Iheanacho.

What we need is another proven, quality winger to seriously challenge Mahrez/Albrighton.

What about Gray he's he as got to be up there with them

daft to think Bayern got James Rodriguez for around 5 million less than the figures being thrown around for Sigurdson.

I thought it was a two year loan?

Hasn't got the right attitude to fit into our team.

Still young and very talented, in a position we need. I'd definitely take him in that price bracket. Don't think he would welcome a move to us, but he may struggle to get the big move he wants and we could end up with a very determined (to prove people wrong) player on a decent length contract.

Unlikely though, but his situation with only 1 year left on his contract and him effectively being replaced by Everton, does put him in an odd situation. I imagine it would be a bit like Zouma and around 20 (lower positioned) clubs would be in for him though.

2 year loan for somewhere around 5 million plus the option to buy for a reported 30 million at the end of the loan deal

I am surprised this thread is going. I was told that the club signing a no.10 was the number 1 priority of the summer. We bid for Sigurdsson/or talked it over with Swansea and player. It didn't lead anywhere. Therefore our second choice was Iheanacho, hence he's coming in. Sigurdsson won't be signing. The next priority will be another centre-back. Personally I'd like to see a right back and a creative player.

Noooooooo..   he promised alot but has delivered little. Koeman is a good manager abd he knows berkley is useless.

Imo he has done so many weights he cant turn his neck

They just seem like such different players in that position. If Mahrez does go, we have no creative/flair players. We needed another one last season to help Mahrez, so will need two if he does go IMO.

Can someone please point me to the article or quote that backs up that he doesn't want to come here? He probably doesn't, but some evidence would be nice.

Its implied by the apparent likelihood that he has chosen Everton over us :(

We had a £40m bid rejected, why are Everton bidding £40m?

No idea but that was rejected too it seems, wonder if Everton will go in with more

Pure supposition .Nothing is implied at all. If he goes to Everton it's because A --they offered Swansea more money than us or B-- They offered him more money than us or C -- We no longer want him at all.

I just implied it based on a supposition of mine which was based on almost nothing.

Boudebouz or Ziyech for less than £30m, younger, for just over half of what Sigurdsson's wages would be, are the best alternatives IMO.

But nevertheless your moral compass is pointing in the right direction.
