Harry Maguire

He's very good. Comfortable on the ball, but happy to get rid of it first and foremost. His positioning is great and at set pieces at both ends he's decent. I think this would be around £15-18 million which I'd be more than happy to pay.

Smalling is doggo, looks like a giraff on ice when he dribbles with the ball.

Can't remember when it was but he put in an unbelievable performance against us once. Looked the real deal. I agree though he can look clumsy at times

Under van gaal he was class, gone backwards massively

Everton are paying £30m for Pickford!!! Tells you all you need to know about what players now cost.

To be fair, he is a very good goalkeeper by any standard, he's only 23 and nowhere near his goalkeeping prime so the chances are he's only going to improve

Going to be very good but I can't see anyone paying near 30M.

And as for smalling he's quality and would walk in our team he needs someone to start giving him confidence not tearing strips off him like that clown at Utd. A fit Smalling is a very good player.

Some of you are missing the point re valuation at this stage of a contract

the player deliberately runs down his contract so he can get a better package at his next club which reflects the difference between his value and the fee approriate, given the length o/s on his deal.

So if maguire is worth 25 mill with 2/3 year contract remaining , we will say he is only worth 12m now and his agent will ask us for a chunky 6/8m s/o fee. The numbers are negotiated around this.

The whole s/o fee isn't paid upfront but more likely as an initial chunk and an annual loyalty bonus.

If hull are insisting on 20m+ then maguire will lose most of his s/o fee. Guess that's up to him. He could stay there and take the whole 20m himself next summer but the risk is he gets an ACL next February and ends up on the dole come June !

It's amazing how many people just don't get this.

If Hull or Burnley for that matter as well don't sell their centre halves with one year left on their contracts then they are worth nothing this time next year. So putting a £25m price on their heads will cost those clubs £500,000 a week (not including wages) if they refuse to sell for less.

If I was a highly sought after player at an unfashionable club with one year left on my contract I'd be demanding to go for a much less fee and get the buying club to give me a more lucrative contract or go on a Bosman in a year. It always amazes me how much a player still holds his value with only a year left on his contract.

Leicester can afford to play hardball with Mahrez and ask for £50m as he has three years left. If he had one year left then £25m would be a fairer price IMO.

Been 'chatting' on FB with a mate who's from Hull.... Talk there is that this is happening !

Straight swap for Musa is what I'd be angling for.

They might value Maguire at £16m and we paid £16m for Musa.

They get rid of a player with one year to go on his contract and we get rid of a player who looks nowhere near the first team. Slutsky would probably go for this as after managing Musa at CSKA and probably thinks he would tear up the Championship. Slutsky must rate Musa as they would have sold him in January 2016 whilst there was an offer on the table if they thought he was a dud.

And another point if I was Tottenham who wanted to buy Barkley and Everton are demanding £50m I'd be telling him to sit that last year out and Barkley and Tottenham can have that money in a year whilst Everton get nothing.

It's like having two tickets for the Men's Wimbledon Final just behind the Royal Box. In three weeks time they will be worth nothing so you can either hold out for an unrealistic price or sell them for the highest someone is prepared to pay but is less than you hoped.

I've been impressed when I've seen him, we need to readjust what we think players are worth. People who can't trap a ball now go for £15m+

Jordan Ibe went for 15m

he makes musa look half decent

Jesus!.. He must be completely shite then?

He came off the bench against us last game. Had a shocker.

money now is crazy.

On Chris Smalling, not sure why he is getting so much stick, would walk into our side easily.

Quality defender if fit

Hull were shifting their best players for £10m apiece in January. Seems odd to play hardball now.

Are they still owned by that cretin who hates us?

Chris Smalling is a great defender when fit. Surprised how under-rated he is on here and Still 27. Most of the clubs in the prem will be after him.

Maguire would be a good signing no doubt but if we had a chance of signing Smalling we should be all over it

I'm just saying that Maguire is a way better fit for us long term. Young and strong and able to grow with the team. Smalling is not a natural CB and is a touch on the fragile side.

I want Maguire and Mbodji as our starting pair next season.

Get it done Rudderz

Seems in principal one half of your dream team is sorted.

Agreed but small print still to sort is what I've just been told.
