Rincewind Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 I read in a Secular magazine a while back that the defended a preacher in court who had had a go at some people that were bad mouthing him. Someone also told me that the ones who go there do not like Muslims. Secular is supposed to be tolerant of all religion even though they do not adhere to any one. They are against all faith schools but Ok with all faith ones.

They had the SAS landing on the bridge and an apache overhead within a very short time. What concerns me is when this inevitably happens in an ordinary town on a Saturday night. Potential to kill dozens with a single armed unit 30 minutes away? Yep, there are nearly always armed police at London Bridge station so they could be at Borough Market literally within seconds. Makes you wonder if something happen in Leicester, or even worse a small town, what the response time would be.

So using your analogy,.maybe I should catch a flight to India and start killing Indians, does that make it right? How am I making excuses!? I'm the first one to condem these attacks. You said don't make this about territory when it's about extermination. I was saying that his reason (rightly or wrongly) was due to his Libyan background. Don't put words in my mouth
Rincewind Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 Someone on Facebook the other day said they should scrap the watch list as its useless then imprison or deport the suspects. One straight out Britain First Manifesto that.

I cannot imagine the families of these victims will fancy a good laugh. Low grade weaponry can't be prevented can it. Nobody can stop a vehicle running innocent people over. We have bollards for pedestrianized areas - ie in City Center - but nobody can stop a lunatic and his mates cruising down the pavement of a very busy street - even busier than London Bridge/Westminster Bridge, look at places like Oxford Street. But yeah, our security services are marvelous. May said earlier that they have prevented 5 attacks - I'm not sure in what timescale but it's still impressive. Well obviously. I'd hope they don't want us all to give in to terrorism either though.
Nick Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 This article is very good - the passages further down around terror newsletter publication and strategies for killing people should read.... https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/does-the-manchester-attack-show-the-islamic-states-strength-or-weakness/amp

Some big places - Lincoln, Skeg, Boston, Grantham etc. The distance you'd have to cover to get an armed response would be massive. Need to heavily invest in firearms officers across the country. Every officer should be taser trained.
bovril Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 If the salafists take Boston and Skeggeh then we know we really are fvcked.

Jeremy will invite ISIS for tea at Number 10 next week and want to chat (a lot) about how it could all be better. When they've got bored of another one of his rambling monologues they'll go to cut his throat. Under attack and immediate danger for his life he will pause to wonder.............should he pick up the gun in self defense or not? The end...
Jattdogg Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 Just heard a fellow canadian has been killed in the attack. Hits home even more for me knowing that but taking nationalities out of this its horrible for all those affected directly/indirectly.

You could probably walk around Grantham shooting people for hours before the armed police showed up
Rincewind Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 That is three times I have seen the 'Corbyn will invite them to tea' line. Twic e on Facebook now on here. Strange.
z-layrex Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 The bridge on the exact path I walk every day. The pub I drink at every week. Don't give a **** not changing for them.

An extremely high proportion of your posts are you claiming that someone on your Facebook feed has said something racist or absurd. Is it not time to make a new Facebook?
Foxxed Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 If we're going to fight the spread out Wahhabism in the UK, we need to. 1. Better monitor who funds extremist religious organisations 2. Coordinate squeezing the source of the funding 3. Remove the arguments that help enlist people to extremist The first is difficult and the kind of thing forensic accounting is good at. The second involves moving away from fossil fuels and dependence on the Saudis, not just in the UK, but in the whole of Europe and US. The third would involve a more proactive foreign policy - where you see British investment rather than bombs and troops. These four things don't help. 1. Trump leaving the Paris accord and therefore more of a focus on renewables 2. US relations with the Saudis 3. Our relations with the Saudis: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-39485083 4. Our ignoring climate change and focus on renewables http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/climate-change-department-killed-off-by-theresa-may-in-plain-stupid-and-deeply-worrying-move-a7137166.html

Merging Cultures Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 I've said before, my long-term solution is to improve education and equality. The more people know and the more equal we all are the better. In the short-term, if the intelligence communities know about individuals and cells, they need to shut them down now. If mosques, churches or even WI groups, express any extremist views, shut them down. If the promoter is not British, kick them out if found to be illegal by the courts (if any criminal, as found by the courts, is not British, kick them out. I would be if I broke the law). Long-term, let's help others improve to prevent extremist views. Short-term, let's route out extremists, and build people up.
Vacamion Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 My Facebook feed now has "Albion First" memes about deporting people, memes about banning Islam and the Tommy Robinson video. By Odin, I went to school with some proper roasters, didn't I ?

There was a terrorist attack on Glasgow in 2007 where the 2 perpetrators were a doctor and an engineer. It's not a lack of education that causes these things.

GaelicFox Posted 4 June 2017 Posted 4 June 2017 It's obvious wahibist Sunni Muslims are following a hateful version of the Koran its a book that is easily manipulated to sound hateful it's has some evil in it , like the bible does I guess no Shia Muslim has been involved in Islamic terrorism in the west , yet the CIA and MI6 continue to support the wahibist Sunni sect why ? Saudi Arabia that's why ! Time we all woke up mosques need to hand banners from their external walls proclaiming that all terrorists are bound for hell and that Muhammad will punish all of them ! We need a law forcing the mosque leaders/managers to report all incidents of decent and Islamic fundamentalism !!! Time we stopped the lefty shit and took control
