Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 I'd go for him, talks a lot of sense, would add massive value to the collective. He needs a new challenge and would grasp it I reckon.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 I'm being serious. He looks like he needs to shed a couple of stone. He's been too comfy down at Twatford. If he joins us, I'd get him taking it all seriously again. If he wasn't willing to do this, I'd go nowhere near him.
foxes21 Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 Hopefully its Deeney + Iheanacho and not just Deeney. Vardy, Deeney, Okazaki & Iheanacho would be solid options upfront. Where would this leave Harvey Barnes though? Maybe a year out on loan in the championship & replace Okazaki next summer?
SecretPro Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 I'd take him, think he's of good character and think he'd fit in well with the team. Could see him playing a great support role for Vards. He's intelligent too, footballing wise, in fact his punditry on match of the day was some of the best I'd seen in a while. Our fitness staff and regime would force him into shape anyway so I'm not too worried about his fattybumbum.
st albans fox Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 Interesting that deeneys price comes in rapidly on the same day that kelechi's drifts out.
Russell sprout Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 I read the Watford forum last time round, and there overall opinion was that he would be perfect for vardy???
gurru991 Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 I think he is a bit like Rooney ... early best before date

Vindaloo FOX Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 get him training with his mate Anthony Joshua and he will be back to the beast he was .
EnglishOxide Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 The time for this signing was 3 years ago. He has aged, got slow and fat and in that condition he is half the striker of all 4 strikers we already have.
jayfox26 Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 Ive never been a fan of Deeney but he ticks the box for prem experience i guess. Wouldn't pay more than £20m for him and thats being generous!
Nickfosse Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 I'll give him one thing, he takes a decent penalty which would make a pleasant change.

I understand it's nice to see our youth coming through and progressing, but if we get Kelechi or Deeney, someone (Slim, Musa, Leo, Okazaki) will be leaving. So it'll hardly affect Barnes' opportunities. I can't say I've seen much of him however I don't think we're in a position to be blooding him into the side next season. A year in the Championship could do him wonders and fingers crossed it does.

UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 I think Vardy and Deeney would be a good combination. It's a yes from me. I'd move Slimani and Musa on. Deeney is a fine team player and would fit nicely in the dressing room, that's important too.
alanf0x Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 Just bought a house in the midlands about 45 minutes from Leicester. May just be another for the portfolio!!
lgfualol Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 How much do Watford want? If we really want him I would feel unwell if we paid more than 15m.
Number 6 Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 Think he'd be a fantastic support to Vardy and for that reason I'd be happy to see him sign. If he brings out the very best in our best striker then I don't see the negativity. Think he'd chip in with a fair few goals himself too.
FrankieADZ Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 think he'd be a good addition tbh if he came here, thought he had a decent first season in the prem and last season was pretty hit and miss, though i think it was for a good few Watford players since not many of them got along with Walter Mazzarri and his methods
foxinsocks Posted 30 June 2017 Posted 30 June 2017 He is ok... but... He is not "top six"... we must show more ambition
