11:13  Bid for Croatia goalkeeper - reports

Quote

City have made a €21m (£18.5m) offer for Croatian international Lovre Kalinic, according to reports in the goalkeeper's homeland.

The 6ft 7in stopper currently turns out for Gent, in Belgium, and was the subject of a rejected €20m offer from Everton earlier in the summer.

Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti indicate Gent, who only signed Kalinic in January (for €3m), are holding out for €25m (£22m).

The 27-year-old has been capped eight times by his country and is already a fan favourite at Gent, where he kept eight clean sheets in 19 league apperances and helped them get past Spurs in the Europa League.

Raiding Belgium again. Lovely.

Kasper goes. Sign him and I'll be happy. Even at £22m but given that Everton were/are in the running it'll end up being higher than that. Or it'll end up not getting him at all lol

(note that I'd rather Kasper stay and we don't sign this guy).

Massive ethnic Croatian goalkeeper.

Worth the money just to sub him on in the dying stages of extra time of the fa cup final to distract the opposition while Shinji shins in a winner from 18 yards.

What's he done since January to justify a 22 million euro increase in price?

He's been linked to an English club.

If we buy a player for £25m that went for £3m in January, the person in charge of that needs lining up against a wall and shooting.

Anyone remember the last 6"7 goalkeeper of Croatian heritage we had?

It's a no from me...

I was there when Kalac gave his near-post impression of the Invisible Man. He came and he went - with hardly a breath of wind in between.

Uh-oh...doesn't look good if it's true...

...But where would Kasper be going? United..? If so we can get Hart, surely

kasper and mahrez apparently leaving and we are linked with this guy and troy deeney. This is beyond depressing

No surprise, really.

We settled for comfortable, mid-table mediocrity the minute we installed Shakespeare as manager.

Please don't even start with Hart. He's fvcking doggo.

So, we're linked with some obscure Croatian keeper at a ridiculous price that you know we won't pay, and all of a sudden Kasper is off? You know that deal all depends on whether Madrid sign De Gea, and there have been no developments there. Don't panic.

If we sell Kasper, I'd be over the moon with mid-table mediocrity unless we seriously up our game on bringing people in.
