Yep got to agree . Everyone is entitled to time off and a rest but he hardly figured for us last season or for England , So he is hardly gonna be burnt out . He's pretty much missed the whole of our pre-season . And for someone who apparently wants to be playing more he is now miles behind everyone else in fitness . If it was me and I was trying to impress and I was hungry for more game time I'd have had a shorter holiday then came back early to try and impress and prove I was doing my best to get in the squad.

How do we know he wasn't told to take the extra time off by the club's medical staff?

We don't, but I find it highly unlikely that a young lad who has only played a handful of games all season (don't think he's ever played a fulll 90. Minutes ) Would be told by medical staff to have a long time off unless he is injured. Let's face it his body won't be as fatigued as a player that has been playing 90 minutes for a full season .
