He wasn't called up for the Euros, scandalously so

Indications of an injury then too to be fair but I know what you mean... Southgate would have picked him for sure.

It was mental.  I dont remember there being anything about an injury then because Drinkwater posted on twitter about being gutted to miss out but good luck to the boys, or sumink.

Him not getting picked was typical and why we deserved to lose.  In one of his last games for England prior to that he was MOFTM for f**hs sake. But Wilshere was brought along instead....

Yeah, think Southgate would be more Drinky favourable,  the guy has been unfortunate with injuries at the wrong time regarding England.  I hope he is sorted now, gets a good season with us under his belt and gets back to playing how he should and getting the call up

For me what I remember about Danny is those 1-0 wins in the title winning season. He was immense at breaking up play, organising, getting stuck in and then moving play up the pitch. Never sell for me. I bloody love him.

Southgate wanted him in every England squad.

In October 2016, he was called up, checked over by England's medical staff, then withdrawn from the squad.

It was agreed with the FA and Leicester that Drinkwater should stay at Leicester so his injury could be managed and he wouldn't be called up again until he'd had surgery, which he did at the end of last season.

This has been discussed to death on this forum in the last 9 months.

Amazing how aloof some people have become, with their he's no good lets sell him policy.

DD was acknowledged by Pearson as a player who was a complicated character who rarely does interviews and is a bit miserable so 'frustrated and huffy" is nothing new.

'Complicated character' is a fantastic replacement for cvnt! lol

Great season with Kanté but I can't really get behind the bloke. Obviously I don't know him but just from what he gives off on the pitch he seems like an insufferable pr*ck. Of course, I don't mind that if he's putting the performances in. We can all agree we don't like Suarez as a human but we'd all have him.

However, the fact he's been woeful for a very long time makes the prospect of him leaving an appealing one. James, N'didi, Iborra and a new creative player in the middle will be more than enough.

Pretty funny, because if he wants to go to the World Cup he has more chance getting in the squad going to Chelsea and playing 2 minutes a month than he does having a decent season with us playing every game.

That doesn't stop Chelsea being interested though. Makes no difference to them if he goes to the WC or not.

I want Willian in return.

Unless we put 20-25m in their direction as well as Drinkwater, that's not going to happen.

:schmike: do it

Why though?

If we sold Mahrez then fair enough but I don't see how we can justify that sort of outlay if we value Drinkwater at 30m.

No chance are we effectively spending 55m on a player.

He's a game changer, sell Mahrez and get the more consistent Willian at a "cut price" than we bring in a Drinkwater replacement.

Why not, we were Champions of England!!!

Think big @AKCJ if we want to establish ourselves as a top 4 club again this is the sort of marquee signing we should be making.

Sell Drinky, buy Gylfi.
Different position, but with Iborra, James & N'Didi, (and everyone's favourite club hero, Kingy as back up), we well covered in that area.

Kasper
Amartey, Wes, Maguire

Albrighton, N'Didi, James, Gray,
Gylfi
Ian Nacho, Vardy
