Drinkwater

Do we really trust our recruitment to replace Drinkwater with the right player?

I know we have James, but going into the season with James, Ndidi, Iborra & King would be underwhelming. (Mendy is leaving & Amartey is being touted to play in defence).

We'd have to sign a quality replacement for Drinkwater to compete with James, Ndidi & Iborra. Unfortunately we'd probably end up with someone like Elneny.

Really hope Drinkwater stays.

I think people are being a bit short sighted here saying accept the bid.

When you lose the engine it's always a massive problem, we will miss him big time.

This isn't a huge amount of money.

If Drinkwater goes, that money has got to go towards getting Siggy in. We look at little lost creatively.

I agree on this one. It's either going to have to be Sigurdsson or at least someone who can pick a pass. There aren't too many achievable buys in this league that can do that consistently.

Then look outside this league. Where did we find Mahrez, Kante, N'diddi?

there are players around who would cost way less and could do a job.

You could get Ziyech and Boulebouz in for less than Sigs.

I don't have a problem with him being sold but we have to replace him as James' injury record could come back to bite us and I'm unsure if Iborra is good enough.

Can we ban these two players names please

If we can find another N'didi it's not a problem, we find another Inler I think we'd be in trouble.

I like James but he does tend to pick up the odd injury. I don't want King anywhere near the starting 11.

I would back drinky to have a geat season.... rather have him than 37m

Bizarre reaction from many City fans to this surprise Drinkwater news

Conte & Kante obviously appreciate what Drinkwater will offer over the coming season - What difference does £30m make to us fans, we're not the club's beancounters!

Not a single decent source has reported this yet... for now it's filed under "bollocks".

Agreed. I refuse to care, unless a good source quotes it.

All those pinning their hopes on James are misguided. Yes he had a good game last night but he is crocked.

Drinkwater is the only midfielder we've got that will pick up the ball, turn and drive.

I do not want to let him go.

But I don't believe all this rumour to Chelsea anyway.
