But yeah lets sell Drinkwater, the chap we all spaffed over 15 months ago for money we niether want or need. Strange assumption. Why would it bother Vardy? The evidence would suggest that Drinkwater needs Vardy significantly more than the contrary.
Sly Posted 6 August 2017 Posted 6 August 2017 Why are so many of our fans keen to sell our players. He’llncost more than £37,000,000 to replace. He’s integeral to how we play and for that reason, if Chelsea have bid, reject it. Me talk of wanting to challenge for European places. You don’t do that by selling your best players. We need to be adding additional quality in midfield, not selling it.

However if Chelsea do offer 30-35m I personally would sell, I don't however think Chelsea will or are in fact that interested. I think there's agent games at play here. I wonder whether this is a plot to get the Mahrez price up. Plot to get the Mahrez price up?

P.S What happened to the Mahrez thread was getting quite heated last night ? I get that their underwhelmed considering his form, but if they'd genuinely prefer Barkley or Oxlade-Chamberlain they must be on crack.

Blue ROI Posted 6 August 2017 Posted 6 August 2017 I'd be surprised if there was interest from Chelsea. Why wait this long to make a move. They could have bought him sooner than the week before the season starts. Not sure what to make of it if it happened. Danny was one of our few if not only decent player before xmas last season and we also struggled without him in he last 3 games, On the other hand he wasn't the same after xmas and had all the signs of a man who had peaked for us. Some might be upset for losing an effective player, others might be upset that one of the links of 2016 is going.I'd be more inclined to opt for the latter. A dilemma for us at this stage but if he leaves he would still have more respect than Mahrez in going about it quietly.

RODNEY FERNIO Posted 6 August 2017 Posted 6 August 2017 Drinkwater is best buds with King. A mate of mine was doing a lot of update work at King's house and he said the two of them were normally there after training. Both big drinkers as well apparently ..... he said the kettle was always on ! He also said what a smashing pair of lads they were.

Any figures mentioned and how close to horses mouth is your source? The figure i was told is £37m his head is turned and he wants the move. like I said I have never posted any ITK information before so not doing it to pretend I am one.

Vardy is a professional footballer, you don't just keep players around because they're a more important player's 'best friend'. Vardy has proven he doesn't need Drinkwater to play well and/or score, Friday night's game being a recent example of that.

WOW. £37m for Drinkwater. I know you don't want to go out on a limb but hearing that from a source within the club is ITK.

lgfualol Posted 6 August 2017 Posted 6 August 2017 I thought Drinkwater and James were best buds. We can find Vardy a new and better best mate with that money

lifted*fox Posted 6 August 2017 Posted 6 August 2017 I like DD a lot and he's always struck me as being one of the most honest and hard working players we have, always beating himself up over mistakes etc. However, we may have seen the best of him for us and £37m is decent but I don't trust for one second that we're able to find another decent midfielder for that kind of money. We have ZERO creativity in our midfield as it is without losing Danny. Many people on here forget how shit our midfield was before him and how long we spent crying out for an industrious, hard-working, talented player like DD in that position. Unfortunately our scouting / DOF team have all the talent of a ****ing sea-cucumber (and that's being REALLY derogatory to the football talents of sea-cucumbers) and I don't trust for one second we've even opened up a ****ing Merlin football sticker book to look for a half decent replacement. You could literally put Rudkin and our scouts into a meat blender and not come out with decent enough mince to make the worst, most disformed looking sausage known to the history of man.
Callabinho Posted 6 August 2017 Posted 6 August 2017 Can't see it being true personally...alrhough you can't begrudge anyone a move away to a top club if so...unfortunately we had a chance to become one and ****ed it up....

Oh dear was hoping not true just before the season stars. But incredible money that. Replace with oriel Romeu . Sad if true.

There are several respectable journos who are well on the know on chelsea... they have said nothing, not even dignified it with a mention. Until such a time they do I'm not going to believe it. So far it's just a load of "my mate said", Indy Kalia and Sky Sports, who don't know their arse from their elbow let alone transfer business.
