Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 30 August 2017 Posted 30 August 2017 Let's be honest. DD is a good journeyman. He looked occasionally international class in the PL winning season, pinging balls to Vardy, because Kante allowed him to by doing the work of two+. If he feels he can look/do the same again with Kante at Chelsea, so be it. You probably can't blame him for realising that though whether he will get game time is debatable. He isn't irreplaceable but we need one lined up and we should ask top whack.

I don't believe for a second that he was their backup plan after DD You don't believe it but they have come back in for him again the following season?? So they had no reason to come in for him after our Premier League winning season but saw something special in him last season? Have a day off.

Football moves too quickly though. If you're at Leicester and Chelsea, current champions, bid for you what are you going to do? They can offer league titles, domestic trophies and Europe every season. We can't.

Now they've come back to finish the job.

That's not what I said was it, I don't believe he was their first choice OVER Kante. They have come in for him now because they need backup in midfield and also homegrown players. If they really valued him they would have spent the money by now - they spent 40m on Bakayoko and want DD on the cheap as another option. Why don't you take a day off from pretending to be ITK.

He is going to a club that regularly wins things, will be playing Champions League and will get back into the England squad in a World Cup year. Can't really blame him for that - however disappointing it Everyone has quickly lost sight of how Chelsea, after winning the Prem, flirted with the relegation zone for a while and had a poor season in spite of a late recovery. We mirrored that last season, but still put in a creditable show in Europe. Shame that the wantaways can't see it with some perspective. With a few good buys this Summer (and we have made some - maybe not quite enough, it's true, and this summer's ambitions have been cruelly derailed by the unfortunate delays by injury & image rights delays and the sudden prospect of losing stars late on) then we might have looked realistically at aiming for a European place. I guess we crucially lost momentum in the transfer business after a good start. We should have continued a la Everton to send out positive signals. Maybe, behind the scenes, there was unrest with the stars and the uncertainty put a hold on proceedings. Who knows. Just so depressing that our strong team mentality is no longer enough to keep the squad together and our breaking the mould looks to be fizzling out.

ronnup Posted 30 August 2017 Posted 30 August 2017 Can't say this doesn't stick in the throat. A damn shame. How we can rebuild and maintain some identity because DD was a massive factor in that. We are losing what we were.
CosbehFox Posted 30 August 2017 Posted 30 August 2017 Doesn't change a lot - like Mahrez we hold the cards. There's a price and Chelsea must pay it. I think they will pay it because they are increasingly desperate. I think the fact we went for Elneny and signed Iborra means this was always happening behind the scenes. We might even have a replacement agreed in principal should Drinky go. Agents and their players are shi***bags though. Wait until the international break and players all off before releasing a transfer request to the public. They wouldn't want to do whilst the players and staff are all at the training ground. As if the transfer deadline wasn't rubbish enough putting it during international breaks causes chaos.

My only hope is more heroes are at the live parts chucking dildos at the reporters. They give the reporters sanctuary inside now ever since the purple dildo incident. Disappointing as I used to enjoy them having to rub shoulders with the shitmunchers gathering outside.

I couldn’t be happier,” the 26-year-old told Leicester’s official website. “I’ve grown a lot as a player and a person in the last four years and Leicester City has been a massive part of that. I owe a lot to the staff here for helping me get to this point – they’ve been quality."
