the fox Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 Thought I would enjoy this much more than I do now! This is absolutely heart wrenching to say the last! Thanks, Daniel :(! This late in the window knowing full well that the team will let you go for the right price, handing in a transfer request is very disappointing! Honestly, I expected better from him.

ScouseFox Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 ah man i am trying so hard but i can't bring myself to be rude about him. he was a hero here. he'll never be a hero there but never mind.
funkyrobot Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 TBH This move has to happen to save Drinky's career. The 'thigh injury' will only be cured if he dons the Chelsea kit. It must be something to do with the healing properties of the Nike brand. It's the same for Coutinho. He realises that his only chance to recover from his debilitating back injury is to wear the Barca Nike kit. He's already getting temporary relief playing for Brazil in their Nike kit! It's so unfortunate that these guys are having to leave the clubs they love because of these injuries. #prayfordanny

Possibly win some silverware and not be injured all the time as he plays for a club which had invested into a squad where he doesn't have to play every game. Not being injured will probably mean that he can play for England and appear at a tournament. Excellent post, I think last years shambles has had an influence here.
funkyrobot Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 I suspect that if Drinky does leave, he will have a miraculous recovery from his thigh injury in the game straight after the LCFC match. Something tells me he won't be quite fit to make his debut on the 9th September ?

He’s been dog shit since signing a new bumper deal 12 months ago and now he goes and shits on the rest of his team mates and fans by sitting on the bench at Chelsea. ****. Agreed, his performances over the past 12 months have been more than questionable and it's only recently, with the comparatively poor performances from Ndidi, that fans were singing his praises again...but let's not het blinkered...bottom line is whilst he is capable defensively, he offers absolutely fk all going forward and this is what we desperately need to bind the team together again and to fill the missing link between defence and attack Let him go and move on. We need someone better..
Bazly Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 Following the report DD has lodged an official transfer request, to Chelsea please pretty please, I'm so excited.

We need someone better.. Injury or not he did well forward in 2015/16 though and was sincerely hoping (in fact I still am) to keep him. If he could get back to that level it would have been great for us. Oh well, if he so much like to warm the bench at Chelsea, so be it.

Amazing how short our memories can be, for facts that contradict our opinions.

Wish players wouldn't say those kind of things. Whilst I think it's a real shit move to hand in a request this late in the window, you can't hold that quote against him. We were a very different LCFC when he said that. It's a real shame to see how much we've failed to build on the opportunity presented by winning the league. The players were told that we were going to push on and become a top 6 or higher side, and that really doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon, so you Can't blame them for wanting to leave.

foxes21 Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 How can anyone want us to sell him. Not only is he a club legend but he is also a great footballer and part of our identity. Also 40m is literally fuch all in todays market. I think some fans judgement has been clouded by his poor season last year, due to injury. In 2014/15 Danny Simpson was on par with Robbie Neilson. The following season he was a key player for us. Drinkwater can & will return to form. That's why Chelsea want him. Such a shame some fans are happy to let such an important cog in our system go so freely. Danny Drinkwater epitomises Leicester City as much as Vardy or Wes Morgan. Yes it's possible we can upgrade him with a player from overseas. But seeing Danny in a different shirt, will not feel right. He is one of us. That's not even just a sentimental thing either - He can still be a great player for us and is in his prime. If he does go, I'm just glad we've been able to finally witness a classy central midfielder pull the strings for all these years, instead of having to put up with the likes of Stephen Hughes and Junior Lewis.
foxtillidrop Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 Is there any chance of him staying with less than 48 hours left? Really feel as though the club should take a stand.
HankMarvin Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 Stoke revive talks with Manchester City over a £10million move for England midfielder Fabian Delph Stoke City are keen to add Fabian Delph to their growing list of summer signings Leicester City were also interested in signing the midfielder earlier this summer Delph would favour a move to the bet365 Stadium to link up with Mark Hughes Potters manager Mark Hughes could offload Giannelli Imbula to Toulous maybe go back in for Delph?
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 Is there any chance of him staying with less than 48 hours left. Really feel as though the club should take a stand. Contract worthless otherwise. But we don't want Drinky hanging around with a face like a slapped arse if we refuse his request. Oh, hang on, no change there then.

I don't like the look of Krychowiak though, we've already got Iborra to play the slow but strong spare man role if you know what I mean, don't think either would cope in a two. Me neither, I don't like the look of him but that's the sort of calibre of player we should be agree to replace because at this stage we could get ripped off. If we went in for Silva again Sporting would know we're desperate and charge £50-60m.
dannythefox Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 If any team offer enough money any player can go. They must understand if the bid doesn't match the clubs evaluation then they won't leave.
Finn Claw II Posted 29 August 2017 Posted 29 August 2017 The OX has turned down Chelsea because he wants to play in the middle, there is about to be a massive hole in the middle of our team. Both valued around £40m....
