I watched back the DVD from that season the other night and he did something amazing (goal/assist/ridiculously brilliant piece of skill or attempt on goal) in probably 33 of the 38 league games that season. He scored crucial winners at Watford and Palace, settling tight games nervelessly when the pressure was really on. He bagged the opener at home to Swansea when everybody was panicking about missing Vardy. He scored at crucial times against Chelsea, Man City and Spurs. Coutinho will never reach those heights. Maybe Mahrez never will again. But what they're buying with Coutinho is consistency (which I suspect you'd see more of from Mahrez were he surrounded with better players).

There is blood on the management's hands, riyad on an altar defensive 4-4-2 counter attacking team with no overlapping fullback managed to be a poty and managed to put better numbers than hazard's best season. He was as clutch as you can get for the team 2015/2016 season.

Mahrez was definitely world class that season chap, not saying he is world class because he isn't consistent enough (for us at least) but he has the potential to be one of the best in the world if he played for a team that placed a stronger emphasis on attack than we do. If I were the Barcelona manager I'd be looking at Riyad ahead of Coutinho that's for sure.
