Pulis winning the Premier League would be genuinely hilarious.
Corky Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 I'd like to see Southampton win it out of the other underdogs, constantly losing their best players, forever being patronised by the media (and now criticised for wanting to keep Van Dijk!). Similar stature to ourselves, hopefully they'll upset the odds if we can't again.
Lovejoy Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 In theory I'd love it, but can you imagine being pleased West Ham won the league ? Nah mate.
sk3since03 Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 It'd be great No team would compare to us winning it though
Fox92 Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Not bothered who wins it, I just want us to finish as high as possible
foxinsocks Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Cant really call man utd an underdog. ... unless yoy are jose

I'd personally be supportive given the amount of money being sloshed about. But would it take away from our unique and special achievement? Didn't give it a second thought earlier, but Chelsea 0-3 Burnley
Koke Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 I'd be fine with any underdog winning it except for Palace. Despite Dyche being an unbearable insufferable bellend I'd still be happy for him if he won the league.
SkidsFox Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Personally I'd love it, so long as it was a genuine underdog... Already people have mentioned Everton and West Ham. They are big city clubs who have underperformed for many years, and so are not underdogs.

Everton, Hammers, Newcastle no thanks.

Buzzell Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 I'd love it. Thing is I can't see a small club doing what we did and spanking the league with a ten point gap. Even now looking back to two season's ago, it was seriously unbelievable.
Jattdogg Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 I would happy if any of the so called top 6 (add everton and westham to that group too) lost the league to a 'smaller' (less popular, non bandwagon) club. Love it when the entitled ones lose.
SheppyFox Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 I see the small teams/mid table teams, including us as us against them, we stand against the big teams. I support any small team as the underdog in any match.
Clever Fox Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 What odds would you have got for Huddersfield to be top of the Table Sunday Morning?
foxinsocks Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Wba... huddersfield.... or wham...i could cheer on. Not everton... nor burnley stoke palace southampton Bournemouth watford newcastle. Certainly not spurs
fuchsntf Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 It wont happen, unless we do it..!! Nobody let the (under) dogs out, we broke out !!...
420Hashish Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 The prem will be lit asf this year. Burnley leading Chelsea at Stamford 3-0 at half time? Huddersfield top of the table after first match? 7 goals in the opening PL match. Watford taking the lead against Liverpool twice. Brighton giving Man City a run for their money for 70 minutes before they finally conceded. They played really well against Man City today though.
420Hashish Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Relegation battles will be intense this year and I guess a lot of teams could push for Europe this year.
The Fox Covert Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 I would absolutely love it if the title went to anyone outside the 'big six'. Come on, the season before last a lot of the Forest and the sheep botherers wanted us to go the distance and break the stranglehold on the Premier League by the 'big six;. I would feel the same if an underdog emerged as a serious title contender by Christmas. Somehow I can't see it this season. Of the potential challengers Everton have lost their best player but they have a long history as a 'big six' club themselves, so I don't really see them as a true outsider. Southampton look to have gone backwards. West Ham are, well, West Ham. They might win a cup once a generation but for the biggest trophy they might as well continue blowing bubbles until eternity. Which leaves us. With a defence as sound as two seasons ago, a top drawer creative influence in the middle of the park, and Mahrez back to his best of the season before last then we might be with a shout. Somehow I can't see another three players arriving the next few weeks, so barring another miracle it probably won't be us this season. There are quite a few Burnley knockers on this forum but when I looked at today's results I laughed to see Chelsea humbled at the first hurdle of their title defence. Even if you don't like Sean Dyche whinging about money every time he is on the box you have to admire that they continue to over-achieve,
Wymsey Posted 13 August 2017 Posted 13 August 2017 If big-spending clubs like the Manchester clubs or Chelsea don't win it, it'd be good in terms of that instant over-the-top transfer fee signings doesn't necessarily mean 'quick' success. For that reason, wouldn't mind clubs including even Spurs or Liverpool winning it (though personally believe it's down to either Manchester City or Chelsea this season). It's gone to the point, personally, where it's getting boring with cash dominating both the headlines and the top reaches of the league - to make our league triumph even more amazing but, sadly, such a feat from a club similar to us then is highly unlikely to occur again.
ZeGuy Posted 14 August 2017 Posted 14 August 2017 I consider this year to be completely out fo reach for any underdog and the 6th first places are already given: ManU, City, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool in no particular order although I think that the two latter are definitely out of the podium. Everton could compete for the 6th spot with Arsenal. But if I had to choose, I'd like to see Huddersfield winning it.
Foxxed Posted 14 August 2017 Posted 14 August 2017 I'd be happy if anyone other than Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Everton after their shopping spree won it. Huddersfield in particular.
chicagofox Posted 14 August 2017 Posted 14 August 2017 I wouldn't specifically want Burnley to win the league because Dyche is an absolute moron. But in general I don't care who wins the league if it's not us. And no, nothing will or could ever take away from our success. The future does not impact the past.
