Man U 2 - Leices 0 Post match thread.

Shakespeare has got it wrong today, Vardy was ineffective but you can't bring Slimani on and take off your best crosser of the ball in Albrighton, Gray produced very little. I will say Man Utd have a decent side this year that will pick up points that they would have dropped over previous years. Onwards and upwards!

Frustrating that Ndidi loses concentration and they score from a shit corner, they didn't really look like troubling us second half. Both CBs were class, as was the whole defence. Too passive in midfield though. Of course United deserved the win but we defended very well and many teams will be ripped to shreds by them this season. If Gray knew how and when to pass, Mahrez and Vardy have decent chances to score. Slim was decent when he came on, I wish Vardy was better at hold up play, see DLC for Everton against City.

Expected to lose, could have nicked a draw but we'll be fine in the top half this year.

What did people expect from an away game against what'll probably be the champions this season? We really weren't that bad, Jesus wept.

we could have done better

Gray needs to go, he isn't ready for this level yet.  Sure he can go by people and that's a rare commodity as we all know but his final product is.. let's just say he could use a few years honing his craft, he's still a young chap right?

It seems to me that with all this pressing we're knackered after 70 odd minutes.

Good displays by Maguire, Wes, Schiemichel and Mahrez.

That was the four for me.

The only offense came from Riyad. Scary to think of the team without him.

Well at least we restricted them to two goals. For the majority I thought our shape was good and we were well organised, we restricted them to crossing it and taking long shots which didn't really harm us.

Yet again though, in the end another set piece started our downfall. Fellaini's goal was offside  but nevermind.

Maguire MOTM again

James played well until the last 10 mins

King actually did alright when he came on

Gray is a greedy cvnt

The team defended way too deep right from the start IMO, then just clear the ball all the time..

The tactic was too negative..

It's not like I was expecting us to win but at least wanted to see a fight..

Shame about the result, felt we could have offered more in the first half if we had started with Vardy/Slim pairing. Not always keen on some of the Subs we are making, good intentions bringing King on to sure up the midfield but he was absolutely anonymous again. James had a bit of a mare, second half especially, making me hope A. Keep Drinky or B. Ibora is actually a beast.

Not all negative. On the plus side, Mahrez much closer to his 2015/2016 effort and form, thought his defending was good today and looked the only sharp one going forward. On a bigger plus side, Harry is an absolute beast of a player. Deserves his England call-up 100%.

Harry Maguire and Kasper had good performances. The rest were a mixture of poor or average.

Wasn't impressed by Gray, had three opportunities to pick a pass with one of them being a golden chance and he was either selfish or too slow. Clearly he has talent and will be a top drawer player one day but I can see why he spends a lot of time on the bench.

Game plan was spot on.

Subs were spot on.

Performance was almost spot on.

Saved the softest penalty you'll see all season, kept one of the most feared strikers quiet all game. Fell asleep at a corner just as we were making a few half chances.

A lot of better teams than us will go to OT this year and do a lot worse.

Man Ure will win the league. Not too gutted as this was always going to be a bonus ball type game. However we play better football when Vards is not playing.

How do you work that out. Vardy  is the key to how we play

Decision making... two games out of three failures... can’t say that’s not more than a little worrying!

Why because we lost 2 nil to one of the best teams in the league at their place?

No just that's it's a long season ahead lol

plenty of time to turn it around

Perhaps not the right wording but I thought we were arguably good for a draw - held them well and they only got in through poor defensive errors from ndidi.

Disappointing but would have been happy to take any points out of today. Drawing might have felt like a win.

We were never ever going to draw against this lot. The difference in quality is simply too big. Why didn't we take the chance to try something else?

Didn't expect anything so not that upset.

Just wish we had players capable of keeping the ball for more than 10 seconds. Do we not practice passing under pressure in training?
