Webbo Posted 26 August 2017 Author Posted 26 August 2017 It seems to me that with all this pressing we're knackered after 70 odd minutes. Good displays by Maguire, Wes, Schiemichel and Mahrez.
Jattdogg Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Chelsea and liverpool next yikess. Guna be bottom after first 5 games unless we can nick a win over liverpool Will take this game was always going to be tough
Scotch Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Don't really think you can judge us too much on that game. Think we looked solid enough for most of the game but again, missed that player who can put his foot on the ball and retain possession.
HankMarvin Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Maguire good Morgan good james and Ndidi meh King coming on with James is not good enough. rode our luck for 70 mins dammed if we do dammed if we don't In the end a little too negative
Sir Shep Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 BMANUT are so biased but only conceding 2 away means we are at least twice as good as Swansea and West Ham doesn't it? Still need to sign some more players but we shall see.
DennisNedry Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Prefer us to play like at Arsenal.. we lose either way but at least we play football and create some excitement.
trabuch Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Well. Good work out for the defence. No shame in losing, but I do worry about Shakespeare. One day I would really like to see Albrighton and Slimani on the pitch at the same time.
sishades Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Man Ure will win the league. Not too gutted as this was always going to be a bonus ball type game. However we play better football when Vards is not playing.
Monk Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 For 70 minutes that was one of the best defensive displays I've seen from us ever, particularly in the current era. Once again let down by lack of creativity in the middle, sloppy passing (James!). I thought Vardy looked unfit and bereft of ideas for most of the game. In the the scheme of things I'm satisfied that we will do ok this season but I'm concerned that Shakey is basically turning into Pearson MKIII with poor subs and an inability to see games out. Fair play to united I think they will win the league.

Corky Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Got away with it in the first half, had a couple of opportunities in the second before poor defending cost us late on. Positives are Maguire, who was excellent, Mahrez who we need to keep whatever now and Schmeichel. Negatives are crap defending, poor ball retention and not enough conviction when the half-chances came around. Although the game plan was to defend, at least we had a game plan which is an improvement on these games last season. So far, it's as I expected- won the home game, lost the aways. Need additions before Thursday as the squad isn't strong enough.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 In spite of it all, I thought we did well to keep them at bay for so long, but the thing is once you give Man Utd a foothold in the game as we did from that corner, that's it. God knows how we still have Schmeichel, one of the best in the world. Looked more likely to score before the subs, but it's Man Utd away and this is not the unmitigated disaster some of the drama queens on here will gawp on about.
Monsell1976 Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Naive, disappointing, boring, and wondering if the new players will improve us from the level we are at present, which is mid to lower premiership standard, nothing in that game makes me think we have improved as a side.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 What did people expect from an away game against what'll probably be the champions this season? We really weren't that bad, Jesus wept.

Izzy Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Most teams will lose at OT this season. Most of us on here pre match expected us to lose. Can't see the point in over analysing this one. Win the majority of our home games and we'll be O.K. Move on to the next...
The Guvnor Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Put it into perspective we were playing ,I think Champions-elect away from home, but it is grating when 2 lapses of concentration cost you goals .

adamlcfcbevo85 Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 very negative performance we need to attack teams even of man utd stature to put them under pressure we gifted them 3 points then I'm not surprised we are struggling to get transfers when we play negative football who would want to come and just park the bus we play much better attacking and with the ball at our feet, positive today we played our best football when we went 2-0 down unacceptable don't care if its united !!!
ZeGuy Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 I'd take a loss and was expecting it. But setting us up with the usual 4-4-2 that was never ever going to work anyway instead of trying something different is what makes me furious. It was a game for Slim and Vardy and three in the middle. Even with Andy King. It was a miracle that we didn't concede at least three goals in the first half while offering **** all up front. We can't think outside this fvcking 4-4-2 day in day day out. Frustrating.
blabyboy Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Positives: Nach is getting back there Morgan's back was better than expected Mahrez tried Starting to wonder on CS's subs when we go a goal down, but only 3 games in, two of the big teams out of the way.. and we have 3 pts.

HoustonFox Posted 26 August 2017 Posted 26 August 2017 Played an absolutely on fire on fire Man U team at home and created some good chances and hardly disgraced ourselves. The fact I'm disappointed because of the chances we missed or wasted, rather than feeling humiliated tells it all.
