There is more to life than money, particularly when you already have more than you can ever spend.

If you don't get that, I feel truly sorry for you.

I dont think anyone disagrees with the more to life than money thing but heck if you are getting paid well to not work hard then so be it. Your morals or work ethic/worth differ from his. Heck perhaps he thinks your a knob for making average money and busting your ass to do so.

Where do you draw the line on whats enough though? If he got paid that much a week should he quit after 1 season and then join a kick about game at the local park for the love of the game?

To each their own really.

Bale is a willy puller, not even due to his wage/not playing its cos he’s not been arsed to learn anything more than basic Spanish in his time at Real. Plus he’s Welsh.

This always annoys me. They have so much spare time, just get a private tutor.

Tevez was here for about 50 years but couldn't speak a word. For what it's worth, I really like Bale.

It’s almost harder not to pick up any of the language unless you’re extremely introverted and footballers definitely aren’t. Antonio Valencia can still barely speak any English and he must have been here for close to 15 years, pathetic really.

Unpopular opinion of the day:

City fans need to get over the Vichai death. Lady Di comes to mind.

If they're still going on about it in five years, then yes.

It only happened relatively recently. :dunno:

But the song is way overused.

Really? I thought they were delivered with great brie-o.

This is the unpopular opinions thread, not the pun thread. Tread caerphilly, Alf.

No fan of the bloke but Farage having milkshakes lobbed over him isn’t on. Seen a lot of people celebrating it doesn’t make it acceptable because it’s somebody you dislike.

If that's an unpopular opinion then just turn us into an autocratic monarchy now.

That's a popular opinion with me, I'm afraid.

Only makes it more likely that his supporters will go out and vote for him. Likewise, with Tommy Robinson - just fuels his supporters' fake victim complexes.

Also makes it more likely that it will happen to others (Corbyn got egged a couple of months back) and, more seriously, that some idiot with a screw loose launches a more serious attack on one or other politician.

Challenge any politician verbally, that's fine - or boo them - but no need to get physical, even with the banana and salted caramel milkshake.

Yeah probably isn’t an unpopular view in fairness. Not that anybody’s twitter timeline is a good barometer of anything but I was surprised by the amount of people lauding it

Yep, I think Farage and what he represents is nothing but bad news for the future but it's totally counterproductive in stopping that bad news from happening.

Agreed. Hopefully it doesn't become tit-for-tat and other politicians get affected by it.

Needs to stop.

It needs to be condemned all round before something more sinister than milkshake is thrown over someone. It’s only a matter of time before there’s another Jo Cox incident.

There's no way that's a McDonalds milkshake.

Anyone who's ever ordered one knows that they're a solid, not a liquid.

It's all a lot of fuss over nothing.

Watford got thumped by an oil sheikh on Saturday but you don't hear them complaining.

Wow what an over reaction. We should be pleased it’s milkshake and not them being slashed at the throat really.

Let it continue i say. Milkshake never hurt anyone, unless they’re lactose intolerant then they’re ****ed

People should stop calling the milkshake incidents "assault" and describing them as political violence.  By all means discuss whether it's a childish and uncalled for act of protest but I've seen too many people unironically refer to it as leftists undermining democracy through violence as though uncontrollable leftist violence is one of the biggest themes of these past few years which definitely haven't seen multiple people get murdered by neo-Nazis.  It's a milkshake for goodness sake.

I saw one woman say that she wasn't going to vote on Thursday but because of that she's now going to vote for the Brexit Party. If that is really how some people make their minds up on voting then it's no surprise people like Farage, Boris and Trump are/will be successful because they know how to manipulate the idiots.

Always remind me of a really old Family Guy from when I was a teenager when the mum is running for some kind of political position and works out that by giving the answer '9/11' to every question she can storm the election.
