"the silent majority" is a term that needs to die. They are anything but silent. They are loud and obnoxious.

I'm interested to know to whom you're referring, genuinely.

Politically, people on the right. They are usually the ones who cry about being censored and silenced. They also tend to claim that most apolitical people would agree with them.

Anyhow, on topic:

Humour that "punches down" isn't humour - it's bullying. Ricky Gervais is wrong.

Ricky Gervais has turned into a whiny little ****. He's part of the majority population so doesn't understand how harmful some stereotypes and jokes about minority groups can be. A segment of his audience will full on believe his comedy takes.

Ive mentioned before that The US office is the best US comedy in history, It needs to be seen separate from the UK IMO, while it began as the same show... it progressed far far beyond...and is quite simply genius.

I’ll take your word for it …. never actually watched the US version ….  :D

Foxestalk doesn’t represent a majority of the Leicester fans who actually go games.

You'd hope not because people would just be walking in to things and dribbling everywhere.

Foxestalk itself is brilliant, but the percentage of mouth-breathers on here is unbelievable compared to the wider population.

We are probably doing the country and rest of the internet a great service by keeping them all busy and occupied here; @Mark should probably look in to applying for a grant or something.

Avocado is not delicious. I don't care how trendy it is/was. It's not horrible but its a bit soapy and expensive.

You have to mix it with other things to bring out the flavour.

Try mashing one and mixing with a little salt, lemon juice and black pepper; serve as a dip with nachos.

I guess one person’s ‘patronising shite’ is another person’s ‘expression of support in the face of racist abuse.’

Best not watch this then

You’re just describing guacamole

Not really.

Classic guacamole is made with lime juice, corriander and chillis; minced onion and chopped tomatoes too.

I would expect nothing less from football fans if the fans can exploit a situation to get under a players skin or antogonise the oposition fans then that is football banter. We quite happily accuse a group of fans of beastieality without a second thought to those that prefer sex with animals not wanting to be associated with Derby.

I bought one and tried it for the first time in my life a couple of weeks ago. Very slimy and oily. Not a particularly nice flavour either.

Went in the bin.

With respect, there's a difference between comments about sheep-shagging and racist abuse and if we expect nothing less from football fans regarding both then perhaps our expectations of football fans are a bit skewed.

To be fair, this is anti Man Utd chant to me rather than a racist one as they are specifically pointing out the two Man U players. I think it would be the same as Birmingham singing about Southgate in 1996 or us/Derby singing about Pearce in 1990.

Obviously with the racist abuse Sancho and Rashford got post Euros it is still very ill thought to give them more crap for non racist means anyway but I think the difference is still important to note.

I agree it is best to keep them separate, but the original Office is a work of art and the only one that can really be considered genius due its influence on comedy. Lots have tried to copy it since and not really come close. It’s just a shame Gervais brought Brent back for a few pointless moments like the film.

I absolutely love the US office and was surprised at how they managed to make it grow into something new, Michael Scott is up there with the best comedy characters. Although I do think it’s a great example of Americans not knowing when to kill a popular show. The last 2 seasons of it are unwatchable.

As a cricket fan, I really dislike Lord's.

Mixed feelings, here.

It does seem to attract a lot of non-cricket fans though.

£150 and then just standing drinking £7 beer in the concourse????

Don’t know whether it unpopular but I’ve just finished watching the office  American version and think it’s better than the British one.

Some clever writing but the characters in the US version are more caricature - even Gareth in the UK version isn’t too OTT

It's insane the amount of blokes that do this on city away days.

You've paid for an away ticket, you've paid to cross the county to go and see city, then you stand in the concourse getting shit faced on expensive stadium beer. And you do this every other week.

It must cost a fortune and you see so little of the game you'd have been better off just down your local.

Would love to know how much it costs them across a season.

I went to day 1 at Lords on Corporate and about 70% of the guys invited spent their time quaffing champagne and watched barely any cricket. I like cricket so I had a few beers and watched the match.

I think this is part of the issue with Lords. It attracts a lot of people who don't really care about the cricket; but like putting on orange chinos and a button down collar shirt and drinking over-priced Moet.

I don't actually have an issue with it; but I can see why it would mean people don't really like Lords.

What's really weird is going to Lords or the Oval to watch county cricket.
