Regular Jaffa Cakes are pretty sh*t.

Tried cherry Jaffa Cakes for the first time today and it’s what they should have been doing for years!

This might shock you, but the vast majority of films are made to make money. A big studio isn't going to pump millions into a project and not care if it sells. They'll give someone £150m to make a superhero film if they are pretty sure they'll make £300m back.

Always wondered what a Studio would make if, say a film took £300m at the box office . After taking the Cinemas cut and various other cost .

Also record box office takings is a load of bollox . If you adjusted for inflation no modern film would come close in takings and bums on seats to some of the old school films when Cinema was king .

If my 2 year old had the compression skills to understand what you have just said and the ability to track you down and find you... She would end your life.

Having a hard time convincing her to eat anything other than Jaffa Cakes at the moment and we are currently using the cherry ones to try and convince her that she doesn't like them but she's on to us.

Even though the moderators, on the whole, do a great job on a highly-popular forum, they should really - when questioned - explain why certain posts have been deleted (as per numerous complaints about this via various posters over the past few weeks or so).

Can understand some posters' frustrations in being unsure why some of their posts have been removed.

Er, isn’t letting boys be boys literally part of what the whole thing is about??

(Apologies if I have misunderstood and you were wittily making this very point).

I think the original point is that people now let boys be girls.

Or boys be non gender specific.

A bit like not being bothered to get a covid jab, but identifying as a person who's been double jabbed lol

Yes, I'm exaggerating, but we live in strange times.

I agree. It’s pretty weird some of the stuff that they delete for no reason.

If they got paid, maybe.

I used to be a moderator on a different website and you’d be amazed how many personal emails we get sent also…  replying to so many and explaining yourself to everyone just isn’t an option, unfortunately.

Not even close... perhaps more like...Not being jabbed but having equal immunity anyway.

No! Now I’m trying to imagine someone doing that!

Hadn’t even noticed the date. God only knows how I even saw it - must have tapped on an old page by mistake somehow and not noticed!

The problem is, it's just fvcking constant.

Everyone thinks they're entitled to an explanation for every individual bit of moderation done to them. It doesn't seem unreasonable to them because it's just one post, or one thread they started.

But to the mod/admin it was probably just one out of stacks of tidying up they had to do and if you stopped to explain it all, you'd be there all night.

Especially because, and this is the real kicker here, the sort of people that need to ask why something was deleted are never going to actually agree. They're not looking for an explanation, they're looking to contest the decision. The usual dissenting voices come on here with that bullshit rhetoric of "we just want an explanation, we'd be happy if we got one, we're just frustrated that we don't understand" are completely full of shit. What they want is to argue with the mod. Preferably in public.

It is infinitely better to just not engage. The vast majority of moderation is extremely obvious. Yes, there's undoubtedly inconsistency where an equally offensive post somewhere got overlooked when yours was removed but what are you expecting from a bunch of volunteers chipping in on their free time?

It's an unbelievably thankless task and almost nobody who'd actually be any good at it wants to do it and the people that usually do want to volunteer want to be mods for the wrong reasons and would be dreadful.

All in all, this place is exceptionally well moderated and wouldn't be one of the most successful fan forums in all of British football if it wasn't.

I'm grateful the mods have cleaned up the Premier League thread after being infected with covid shite.

Even if that did mean my post with 30 likes was deleted too.
