If the usual suspects role out in that 4-4-2 formation and don't put in a shift we are going to struggle. Let's freshen it up Shakes. Sod the "it takes time" to change system crap. Give them some clear instruction this international break and go for it! I am worried the players are choosing the tactics again. I am speculating and I think Shakey will not change tactics as he is clueless, but I would go:

GK: Kasper

LWB: Chilwell

RWB: Albrighton

DC: Dragovic

DC: Morgan

DC: Maguire

MC: Ndidi

MC: Iborra

AMC: Mahrez

SC: Vardy

SC: Slimani

I would get the ball out to our wing backs and get balls in to the box for the big man Slimani. Old fashioned approach, but with our limited ability maybe best with Vardy and Mahrez getting in the box for support. Away from home, maybe a more defensive midfielder instead of Mahrez.

I agree we need to try something different and your formation is one of 2 id be tempted with.

The other being a 4 2 3 1 with iborra and Ndidi sitting and giving a 3 behind vardy plenty of licence to get forward.

My one issue with the side you have is mahrez in that role. Think I would litterally take king. Gray or even Shinji or nacho over Mahrez as he never gets involved enough.

But if we get the ball to slim and vardy and mahrez can play off him i think at least the fans would see is trying to be positive at the minute it's just horrid to watch.

Really hope FIFA have approved the Silva transfer by then. Although he will then probably be behind King getting a start as he's "not match fit yet" like Iborra and Kelechi. Delph coming in for Man City over the past weeks kind of blows that theory to shite... As he's Been great. And probably played less football before that than Mendy did for us.

Predictions and team sheets?

Fancy us to take all 3.

2-1 Leicester, Vardy x2

Don't do scorelines!

I do the score line thread...

Do a thread on team selections, tactics etc.

But don't do a score line thread. That's what I do.

They'll be tight and try and go on the counter.

Feel our wingers could be the solution for this one.

Shakespeare will be keen on this one, with his former links at WBA.

Really hope no one else cottons on to the putting a man on Kasper to prevent his distribution! Defoe did it expertly today, completely took Kaspers main asset out of the game!

We havent beaten these at home since 1994. At their place we've been prolific winners in recent seasons but at home we never beat them.

We never even beat WBA at home during title winning season. No chance we'll do it in this form. 0-2

Not going to be a classic I suspect - based on today if West Brom go one or two up then they will spend most of the game time wasting!

Naturally very physical and strong.

2-4

We go down early.  Pull it back to 2-2 before the break.  It feels positive.

They come out, steal 1 on a counter after Harry's tried to pull of a Giggsy-esque run.

We chase the game before a 40 yard effort from McCauley hits Silva (who's now cleared to play) in the ribs, the ball trickles into the bottom corner, whilst Kasper unwraps a classic milk chocolate magnum by the other post.

Shakey comes out post match.  Mentions something butcher related.  Talks about his new sausage flavour for a bit.  Then explains that we need to be tougher and learn to control the game.

Our record in this fixture is mysteriously terrible. There's no logic to it but we just never ever win it.

0-0 again and it'll be one of the worst games to have ever taken place.

Mahrez is not the player to drop.

4-4-2 is not the formation to play with the players we have.

Leicester need a new manager.

When I say "new manager", that can include Shakespeare changing things around, but if he can't implement the drastic changes needed, then a new manager will be required before this game.

I'm coming to suspect this is a big part of our problem. Mahrez is a fantastic player, but I question his effectiveness in any formation other than 442.  He can't play as a wing back in a 352, he never seems to perform as well when played through the middle.  He could perhaps perform in a 433 but then the team lacks natural width and would leave Simpson and Fuchs exposed.

We simply don't have the other players to be as effective in a 442 as we were two years ago.  Most of the key players have either left or are past their prime.

442 has to go first and foremost.  Unfortunately it means that Mahrez will have to be benched.

I'd be happy with a 3-5-2 and understand that Mahrez would be benched, that would be a positive decision.

Yesterday's benching of him to continue 4-4-2 was sacking material if not fixed.

4-3-3 works fine for me, and that keeps Mahrez on the pitch.

What's your preferred line up?
