foxfanazer Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 Anyone else buzzing for this? Nah me neither Another Harry Kane jizzfest, sidewards passing, slow turgid build up and picking up a late win to paper over the cracks. on the plus side it’ll probably be better than watching LCFC at the moment
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 We're atrocious and the one midfielder I'd trust to at least create something half decent is crocked. Be surprised if we didn't win, though.
kingcarr21 Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 It's such a shame to have no desire to watch them tonight. Just a shit show. Same old dross with backwards/sideways passing. Or even players when they have the ball just standing there deciding what to do with it. Just embarrassing. Southgate getting a 250K bonus for qualifying. What absolute nonsense, when he took the job we were in no trouble of qualifying. Just money down the drain that could have been used for grass roots projects.
davieG Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 There really is a shortage of quality mid-fielders eligible for England. Is there anyone even remotely world class?

I just think we could do a lot better with what we have... I've never really understood why James Ward Prowse doesn't get in ahead of pulling Winks up from the U21's!
Sambiasso Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 Don't bother anymore, Cannot stand the Glenn Hoddle bukakke for Tottenham players.

Tuna Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 Can't be arsed with England anymore to be honest. Hodgson basically ruined what little interest I had in the Euros.
foxy boxing Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 England only have one truly world class player at the moment and that is Harry Kane. same old England everytime and yet people expect things to be different! why exactly! we breeze through qualifying and then get to the major tournament and we are rubbish! we've tried foreign managers, we've tried managers who are flavour of the month! we've had all sorts of discussions and inquests as to why we keep failing at every tournament. but the end result always end up the same. what exactly can be done to break the mold and make a successful England team, one which we can all be proud of. surely everyone would just like to see some success with the national team, for those of us that were unlucky not to be born to see '66 we keep singing all these years of hurt(and still counting) never stops us dreaming! If an England Manager and players do manage to win something they will be treated like gods and forever remembered and they would be immortalized. we'll keep watching, we'll keep supporting knowing we probably won't win a tournament but we will all keep hoping and keep dreaming!
Jon the Hat Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 I might take an interest if Harry starts, but I doubt it.

We dont need WClass Players, its a stamp given too Willingly in this part of the world. Good honest pro's, with potential and quality will do...Southgate has picked a few, letsxsee how they develope. Plus spite this forums hate H.Kane is a bloody good striker, nearing WC.In fact we have a good group of forwards imo. Ali, needs someone like Terry/Adams from within the team to give him a good mouthfull, or he could be abusing and Wasting his potential WC qualities. Spurs are missing some hard geezer of the past, to give Diers, Ali and a few more some Honest saxon, wise words.also Englands lacking the same at the moment, Wise asses, but Only powderpuff Hardmen. Kane is too nice, Cahill to involved with self, Henderson hard player but not character. Maguire still unknown and early ...to see what he has within him.
kushiro Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 Did you see that report this morning that Southgate invited Alan Shearer into the camp this week to give a pep talk. Truly unbelievable. Let's look at his World Cup record: 1998 - he threatened to pull out of the squad if the FA charged him after he kicked Neil Lennon in the face. The FA decided to drop the case. 2002 - wasn't in the squad because he'd retired from international football, aged just 29, once he saw Emile Heskey was about to take his place in the team. And now he's invited to 'inspire' our boys before their big World Cup Qualifier. What an utter joke.
Vacamion Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 Shearer, famously, thought creosoting his fence was an appropriate way of celebrating a league win. He will truly inspire them.
goose2010 Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 havent watched England since the defeat to Iceland and wont start now. For the manager to come out and say half he squad isnt fit to wear the England shirt just says it all for me. Having seen the team for tonight as well just proves its not who you are or how you are playing its what club you are playing for. Team is below. If the Manager have any say the ones in bold should be replaced. Hart, Walker, Stones, Cahill, Bertrand, Henderson, Dier, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sterling, Rashford, Kane
Lestoh1 Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 In fairness england have exciting individual players like alli rashford kane sterling ox etc but the england team is so dull. If we had good centre mid options the squad would look tidy. But we have jake livermore and even drinkwater around the setup and theyre toss at that level.
katieakita Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 What time are Spurs kicking off? the only thing of interest will be the levels of bollox coming out of Hoddle's mouth as he brown noses Kane
AjcW Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 I think England at the minute is perfectly set up for Mourinho to come on board in 2020 after winning the League and Champions League a couple of times with United. He'll waltz in, sort things out and knowing him probably bring home the 2022 World Cup By that point we probably actually will have a tidy squad and the centre midfielders mentioned above will be the likes of Lewis Cook, Loftus Cheek, Tom Davies who all have that creativity and energy that the CM desperately needs!
Nugent Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 Very rarely watch England games these days, especially if we're playing some minnow at home. Waste of an evening.

Brainy Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 I'm looking forward to our comfortable 3-0 win being criticised by the majority because they think Slovenia are a team of farmers. I'm looking forward to our convincing 3-0 win being dismissed by the majority because they think Slovenia are a team of farmers. One of those. Probably the top one
Wymsey Posted 5 October 2017 Posted 5 October 2017 It's, now, got to the point/feeling in as if the 'fans' actually want the team to lose.. We've done quite well under Southgate, overall, thus far but there appears to be a constant black cloud hovering over the team and FA. The latter must be one of the most-critisised organisations in the football industry. As if they're not welcome to change the game for good. For example, chairman Greg Clarke (part of the consortium at Leicester during the administration period) has invited to meet gay players in private, but none had come forward and the FA still gets scrutinised - despite trying to to the right thing and work with these certain players in how to change UK football's mindset/perception of gay players. Almost feel sorry for the organisation, as a whole.

Because there are posters on some forums that, have a downer on England and the FA, there arestill the majority of young generation English fans, who will support and follow England.even old winklies like me, for their sake I will not get to become a grumpy old man. Dishing out frustrating negatives. Mis-guts on this forum, will not win the day.....Oh I get frustrated, despondent but every new group Of youngsters , like other teams around the world deserve THEIR chance, without these grumpies getting the upper-hand... Dont let your kids down....
