iamafox Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 Can't think of a player in our squad who doesn't use filler words: like, obviously, you know, er

Especially when you have to think carefully about your choice of each word, as you know it'll all be pulled apart and scrutinized by the media.
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 It used to be Jeff Schlupp. No doubt about it
Gary Eatfood Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 Has to be Vardy. He's the only one that's written a book....

King, Fuchs, Huth and Kasper seem the most articulate to me but that doesn't always equate to intelligence. Obviously footballers aren't famed for their intellect so I doubt there's any potential Mensa members in the dressing room Wookie. You are as bored as me with the International break aren’t you.
sylofox Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 Safe to say it was not Harry Kane. Otherwise he would have played better stayed here and been a Premier League Winner.

Wymsey Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 Fuchs. If I remember correctly, he had an IQ test and he fared quite highly?
StriderHiryu Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 For all round intelligence it's either Kasper or Fuchs. Iborra is a maybe, but it's too early to tell right now. Whenever Kasper is interviewed he comes across as smart, educated and well articulated. In terms of footballing intelligence I'd go for Mahrez. Even though he picks the wrong decision a lot of the time, I also feel like he is the one that can see the picture before anyone else in the team can. In this respect both Maguire and even Vardy would rank suprisngly high for me. We no longer have him but Cambiasso had the best footballing intelligence of anyone I've seen wear our colours. His body was letting him down, but you could tell he was ahead of everyone else on our (and often the opposition) team. Think he will end up being a good manager if he deicdes to become one.
Ian Nacho Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 You can tell it's the international break with threads like this...

What actually led me to this train of thought was that Vardy was the white power ranger in Copenhagen and I wondered if any of our players were intelligent enough to see the irony of it
weller54 Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 Schlupp was a past Mastermind winner I heard...

He didn't play for us but someone in the premier league about ten years ago. I could see Mahrez, Chilwell and Fuchs in a heated three-way discussion on how best to differentiate a quadratic equation. Thought Simon Mignolet (current Liverpool) has some sciency degree?
Redouane Posted 11 October 2017 Posted 11 October 2017 Kasper for sure Probably due to the fact that he has had a better education than his teammates, since his father could afford the best schools
Stadt Posted 11 October 2017 Author Posted 11 October 2017 Incidentally, I also read this article today which is somewhat related to the thread http://www.football365.com/news/are-england-too-thick-to-win-anything
foxy boxing Posted 12 October 2017 Posted 12 October 2017 Fuchs and Kasper definitely sound the most intelligent when you hear them speak, because they know how to articulate themselves but most of the players have a good degree of inteligence.
knitro Posted 12 October 2017 Posted 12 October 2017 Huth has to be a contender. He's laconic but his twitter is incredibly witty, which requires quite a bit of intelligence. Same reason Vardy gets a shout.
