No threat whatsoever.

 

I used to love watching us bowl, but this is turgid.  

 

It puts our thrashing of them in the series a few years ago into stark perspective.

 

I'm off to bed.  I fully expect 180 for Warner when I wake up.

I get what you are saying but I do think we played ok in the first two tests, not great but ok. The Waca was a disaster and a real poor show considering what was at stake but we are still playing for pride. If we can chalk up a victory or a draw, I’ll take mild satisfaction from it.

Australia decent odds to win with the strong possibility we'll probably collapse to 250 all out.

 

Wanted to find a market for Aus to outscore England in the first innings but can't find anything. Closest I see is Eng under 300 first innings and Bird to take 4 wickets (0 currently) at 20/1

Cook now has a century on all 5 Australian Test grounds, something some of their legends haven't done.

 

Would be sensational if he could carry his bat here.

 

Just don't cock it up now, losing 5-0 to this side would be appalling.

Nice that the barmy army finally have a bit to cheer about, fair to say Bird took it a bit better than Johnson did when they first sung it about him.

 

I understand that anything is better than a 5-0 drubbing but im still beyond annoyed and struggling to get excited about these last 2.

overtaken Lara for runs too today.

cant imagine how difficult it must be to concentrate batting for a whole day.

used to open the bat myself and I  think I carried it once in 15 years!!!

We only played 40 overs and when I played senior league I was lucky to last 15!!!!

says more about me than him mind you!

To bat against that attack for nearly 700 minutes under pressure is sensational, amazing depths of mental strength.

 

Today was as good as I've seen him, one half chance in a day of batting, they gave up trying to get him out by the end. Such a shame someone else couldn't step up before he came back into form and keep the series alive.

But easier and less impressive now than if he'd done it in one of the first 3 Tests? Definitely, of course it is.
