EnderbyFox Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 Wonder if he'll start in the Checkatrade tomorrow evening?
Farrington fox Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 At 22, if that’s what is real age is, he shouldn’t be in the development squad long. If he’s any good he ought to be challenging for a 1st team place next season!
Popular Post FoxFossil Posted 8 January 2018 Popular Post Posted 8 January 2018 Bought Mahrez for £450k, now worth £45m. Bought Fousseni for £2m, should be worth £200m in four years. 3 2 1
lcfcrinaldi Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 I think the sports science team would have to keep an eye on his sugar intake. 1
RumbleFox Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 Have I entered a weird, unfunny and regressive episode of Black Mirror where it's still funny to comment on the age of African footballers at every possible opportunity? X 3

Matt Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 Our obsession with Strikers over other positions that should be more of a priority continues then. I just hope this one is abit more impressive than the others we’ve spunked money away on.

To me this is an area we need to strengthen, a few games ago the manager had Ulloa as our number 2 striker (if you count Shinji as a #10) if hes he’s not confident in what we have why wouldn’t he look elsewhere? If Vardy was out for a long period and Slimani had one bad game we’d all be calling for Puels head. Edited 8 January 2018 by Lambert09
SheppyFox Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 Fully expect him to disappear into the u23s never to be heard of again, although I’d love to be surprised like I was when Mahrez and Vardy came good ??

It is common places where birth certificates can be forged easily -- Africa, Latin America, etc. A great 21 year old baseball player might be with $10 mill, but an 18 year old with the same skills is worth a lot more, so there are shenanigans that happen, agents making players younger than they are by forging birth certificates or bribing a govt official to issue a legit one making the player younger. So fans tend to be a bit cynical when we see a player from those countries with skills beyond his years (or facial hair, or physical size, etc.). But as kids are identified younger and younger, it is less of a problem than in the past. 2

I think they later age-tested the Nigerian u17 team who won the u17 worls cup and found that 7 of the 11 were older than 21.. a lot of it has stemmed from that, i think 1

Goal scoring is the most important part of the game, and we need a new Vardy on the horizon. With Nacho failing hard, perhaps we are going to go the volume route (instead of spending 25 million with an eggs in one basket approach) and buy a bunch of young strikers, identify a couple who warrant serious attention, time with Puel, and then start training them up. As this is still an area of need, I like the purchase, though I think we need to be looking for the next Ndidi asap.

Raised it's head again when there was a tenuous link to that Lazio player who's coach had to defend him saying he'd 'lived through hardship' which explained why at 17 years old he looked about 40.

However we've need defenders (across the whole defence) for 2 years now and barr Maguire we are still no closer to strengthening that area. 2 years. I agree with your points about strikers and it is a priority for the reasons you've gave, but the money we've spunked away that area should have been sorted, no excuses - It hasn't and here we are. Unforgivable. We've stood still for many windows now. Edited 8 January 2018 by Matt

baldeagle Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 This is the sort of signing we used to make regularly and usually worked . Somone we’ve never really heard of or know much about plucked from obscurity at a low cost . It’s nearly always out most expensive players that turn out to be the shitest . 1

Just because this has gotten over the line early it doesn't mean we're neglecting other parts of the pitch. 1

Plus... we might sign another 8 defenders and 25 midfielders before the end of the window.
