From what I remember wasn't he getting loads of unwarranted stick for some reason that day?

Yep. But don’t be silly it doesn’t work both ways ;);)

Not sure media would be his next move.

I hear he might be putting together one of those questions and answers nights with Claude at the KP. Tickets £25 to include a curry and a pint. Bring your own sleeping bag.

Loved watching Fryatt play and always thought if he was just quicker, he'd have played real top flight.

Great finisher.

A great servant at a time when we didn't have much to cheer about. He was a natural goalscorer and reacted quicker than most in the box.

Vardy for instance doesn't possess the  goal scoring ability Matty had. It's Vardy's explosive pace that gives him an edge. Had Matty anything like Vardy's pace then he would most certainly have moved on to a top Premiership Team. at the time.

He was never the same after the bad facial injury.

Loved Fryatt while he was here, clearly limited but scored some great goals. For some reason I always remember the Friday night game at QPR when he scored both goals in a 2-1 win.

One of my favourite away games - QPR were playing well at the time and I think we went second with that win. Didn’t Danny N’Guessan have a stormer in that game? Seems like a lifetime ago.

Yeah we went joint top with Newcastle, just watched the highlights for this game and big Dan with a great cross for Fryatt's first and then an absolute howler by the QPR keeper for the other.

Decent player for but David Nugent was a clear upgrade on him and Fryatt was quickly forgotten here.

One Fryatt goal that sticks to my memory was against Derby, 2-1 win I think. Guess who gave him an assist? The great Jason Jarrett himself. Throwback name tbat most have fortunately forgotten about.

Very much a slow vardy. Had he had vardy pace he would not have been here long though.

Yeah the cross for Fryatt’s first goal was superb. We were top for the night I think.

Looking back i loved that team and they didn’t get enough credit for doing what they did. Remember when we went Bramall Lane and played well, ‘we got our Leicester back’, it felt true.

That team had so many prospects as well hence my annoyance when KP come on board and set about completely ripped apart the team/staff.

Yeah. One of my favourite away days that. Friday night weren't it. Brilliant.

They completely blew our expectations away that season. The league was strong - Newcastle, Middlesbrough, WBA, Swansea, Forest, Blackpool, Cardiff were all good sides. We finished top 6 that season was incredible, especially after just getting promoted back into the division.

I remember being gutted when Pearson went to Hull.

Fryatt holds the record for fastest goal ever scored by a Leicester City player when he scored after 9 seconds in a 2–1 defeat to Preston North End on 15 April 2006.[2] Fryatt broke two further records during his time at Leicester in the 2008–09 season. His first was becoming the first player in 42 years to score 20 goals before Christmas, and another being the first in 83 years to hit hat-tricks in successive matches.[3]

loved him for those two season we nearly got back to back promotions. remember the absolute drama would he/wouldn't he be fit for the play off games vs Cardiff, at the time it almost seemed like it was on a par with the vardy suspension at the end of the title run in. think he came on with 15 mins to go in the home leg and nearly bagged, then him & super steve gave them fu cking hell in the away game. great times.

tbf if you look back on some of his goals there is some incredibly good finishes. shame he was never a proper athlete, the main thing that held him back tbh. some of the touches to bring a hopeful punt down followed by a tidy finish on them dodgy league one pitches were much better than I ever remember.

Brilliant for those 2 seasons for us under Pearson which began our revival as a club. Not nice to see him retire early. Same about Jack Hobbs who was also great for those 2 seasons but has been crippled by injuries.
