If we can't get a manager who consistently get us to challenge for top 4 whilst playing champagne football with mostly bang average players then something's very wrong with this club.

Agreed, we've been utter shit since winning the league. It's like the success has gone to the players heads.

Your particular strain of sarcasm is much more subtle than @ZeGuy's

Southampton fans weren’t right we’ve had a few poor games recently but we have created more chances in those games than we did during the run of 1-0 wins in the title win.

Football is a simple sport, score more goals than the opposition, you do that and nothing else really matters. Stupid penalty, giving the ball away in midfield, unable to defend a corner. That has been the difference between 9 points and 3.

The other reason to not lose our shit is Puel is making changes trying to make things happen, he is being let down by his players, Silva was crap on Saturday, Gray was crap against Stoke, Chilwell and Albrighton have been patchy. It’s hard to set up for a game when you players perform like turd.

Throw in a few injuries and other distractions and it is understandable that things have been disjointed. When we click we will rip a team to shreds, but we haven’t been clicking and still did enough to win those 3 home games. It’s not that bad at the moment, disappointing, frustrating, yeah, but not crisis meltdown levels.

Great post, deserved more than just a like.

Probably the worst thread in foxes talk history

That’s very strange, it’s such informative witty and even insightful posts such as yours I would have thought it would rank a bit higher.

In all seriousness I actually get the original posters point. After 5 matches or however many it was when we smashed them we mocked how boring our football was and how Puel was actually doing a great job. That honeymoon is now well and truly over and we have regressed to actually being Southampton of last year but with more goals thanks to individual brilliance from either Riyad or Vardy.

Dont even get me started on the guys press conferences and interviews, i have absolutely no interest in listening to what he says in the slightest so imagine how much he inspires the players.

Think he is testing and trying alternatives, he is looking toward a significant summer of change and has the very rare opportunity to try things from a position of power.

We won't go down and he can work out exactly what he thinks he will need.

I bet he plays full strength for the cup as that is now the primary aim this season.

I'll wait and see how HIS team plays next season before complaining too much .

They cannot possibly be loving the fact Puel is 8th and they're 17th. They have bigger issues than us and Puel.

Doubt they're loving it considering where they are; however they were right about him.

Boring football

Shit tactics

It's been very hit and miss but right now we look worse than we did under Shakespeare, especially in attack.

Think I'll take my sleeping bag and pillow next game.

Not defending the home game with Bournemouth but it was comfortably better than the away game. The away game was so bad it was actually funny to think it was the top level of English football. If Bournemouth miss out on anything this season by a point then that'll be the game they look back on. Unbelievable they only took 2 points off us.

It was only about a month ago everyone on here was buzzing about the possibilities under Puel.

Now there are calls for his head. I actually hate our fanbase at times. We must be one of, if not the most fickle bunch of fans in the country.

I think it’s most football fans not just us.

The thing that’s easy to forget is, the level-headed, rational fans don’t get noticed because they don’t start ridiculous threads.

The supporters who’ve been there through the darkest days (and there have been quite a few in the last couple of decades) appreciate where we are in the bigger picture.

8th in the Premier League, great owners and a nice home stadium that we own. That is something to be proud of, we’re a bit hit and miss but who isn’t barring Man City. I’d rather be where we are now and have some potential to become even better than watch us season after season aim to scrape a playoff spot in the Championship.

The only way southampton would love this is if they were 8th and we were in the bottom 4.

tbf that was the case about this time last year and apparently they hated that, too.
