I wasn't at the game but seen a lot on Twitter that she was getting a load of crap from Brighton fans. What kind of abuse I'm not sure but alleged sexist abuse?

If true, bit hypocritical given how much of a fuss they kicked up after the reverse fixture in August.

EDIT: fully aware it'll just be a few spoiling it for the majority and it's not a stick to beat all Brighton fans with.

She's not at all bad as a lino, as a referee I'm not sure she'd cut it. However, football in general needs women as well as B&EM people in positions of influence. It's not racist bias that we don't have many in football, hopefully it should be the best for the job.

Sian does not deserve the crap, I've heard her get from certain areas of supporters.

I genuinely didn't even realise there was a female official to be honest.

I thought the refs had a reasonably good game from what I could tell, it seemed like a  classic example of the home team yelling at the officials because they were frustrated.

We do it loads at the KP.

Match officials get abuse. It's part of the job spec. I doubt she would want, or expect, to be treated any differently if she makes a bad/unpopular decision just because she's a woman.

Yeah but sexism or not. I wouldn't feel comfortable singing the lineswoman is a willy puller, and strummer just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I like her, not someone who wants to be the focus of the game, tranquil, relaxed, and generally good.

She's good lino one of the best in England, to be honest doesn't surprise what happened today. As me and my dad were leaving the ground today got quite a bit of abuse from a few sets of home supporters, most uncalled for. Sour losers eh?

Yes they get abuse "you are shit" "you are blind", etc etc but if it is sexism surely you cannot agree with that?  You wouldn't get "you are male therefore a twat" or the like?  Would you consider racist abuse just part of the job too?  If it is general abuse fair enough but if overtly sexist why do you feel the need to defend that?  Seems an odd viewpoint?

You have completely missed the point that I was making.

I was at the game and must say all officials were very poor, regardless of gender. Massey is one of the best linos in the Country imo but yesterday they all seemed to be consistently poor.
