I said earlier in this or another thread that I thought we would be making a signing right away to create a splash - seems like my gut feeling might be confirmed? Wonderful news if true. This is the type of signing we need.

Portuguese fans I've spoken to say A Bola is notorious for spouting some utter shit, hope it's true but I might wait for a better source.

Oooooh here we go boys!! I've heard rumours we have anothrr couple lined up before the World Cup starts.

The club means business this summer!

They want to keep Mahrez here if possible.

If they haven’t offficially informed the people they need to then they wouldn’t say anything different yet ......

If he was at the training ground it would to sign so deal would be done. I doubt he will be popping over for tea and biscuits.

I'll leave it to you to post any up dates or info you get.

From inside the club or The Sun?

Its hardly breaking news that we want to keep Riyad is it? We have never been actively looking to shift him out otherwise we would have accepted any offers.

Any names to those possible players?

The only ones I've heard is Mawson. I've been told we've bid £15 million for him.

Maybe the player wanted to see the set up ?

he must know that there is a  chance puel may not last until xmas so he may want to convince himself its where he wants to be. of course he would mainly be coming for the dosh but as I understand it, there would be other suitors willing to pay him a  decent wedge.

whilst the A Bola report could be rubbish, it states that porto need to dot and cross legal stuff before making any announcement. therefore, they wouldn't be highlighting that the player was anywhere other than porto. of course, your informed portugese source (who has proven reliable thus far) could be getting his information from inside the club and therefore not relying on a more 'official' line.

I wonder if they will try to offer him a new contract

Why do you have to be an "Official ITK" with thousands of twitter followers to know whats going on at the training ground? Maybe he has a source like some on here?

You don't, but surely you see the issues with posting every piece of shit that's spouted on the internet.

No of course not. But instead of keeping him here when he doesn't want to, they are trying to spend big to show him we mean business.

If he insists on moving then I don't think we will stand in his way with the right price / offer.

Very, very excited for this signing. Hopefully we pull this off. I've been having nightmares about the right-side of the defence recently. This goes a long way towards addressing those issues early doors. Exactly the sort of backing Puel needs and exactly the kind of improvement the playing squad needs.

Big hand to the club, if this going to be done and the reported £17.5mil fee is true :appl:

Reports that Puel is strongly behind this signing.  If this guy is as good as he seems then Puel has a great record of bringin players in so far with him and Diabate

Not only that, but it states Puel convinced the board to buy him, basically confirms Puel staying here.
