Popular Post Nigel Graham Pearson Posted 16 May 2018 Popular Post Posted 16 May 2018 Holy fvck yes! Get him in before the WC so we can watch him and call him a crap waste of space from a pub league after 20 minutes. 4 8
lcfc sheff Posted 16 May 2018 Posted 16 May 2018 I pray he doesn't flop, this signing could have far benefits to the team than anyone can imagine

I actually think Puel is looking for something similar to what Marseille do - full backs basically wingers with the actual wingers dropping inside so you've got loads of technical ability going forward. Could be an exciting future ahead. PUEL OUT 1
sylofox Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 €9m sticking point holding up the deal. More talks imminent. Seems it will be sorted over the weekend one way or another. From the Porto end. 1 3
tsintskaro Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 (edited) 25 mil is so much for right back it means after this there will be 2 more signings tops? Edited 17 May 2018 by tsintskaro

Could be a problem if this guy is short and thin! I agree with this, but I'll make this point, and I made a similar one for Morgan too. It's more pro-active to have someone like Pereira. You have that attacking player giving us more attacking impetus then we're less likely to end up in scenarios where we have to make those back post headers. It's the same with Morgan, who while he makes a lot of blocks - with a better defender, you're not actually needing to make them as frequently because you're in a better position to start with. That's not to say it should be ignored but it's a theory I have. 2

Grebfromgrebland Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 I think the budget will be more than people think. We have cash plus player sales of slimani, Musa, ulloa, Mendy, mahrez will free up lots of wages as well as transfer capital.

MC Prussian Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 (edited) Nothing new in these recent news. English and Portuguese newspapers have simply been cross-referencing the same odd bits of information for the last 48 hours. Just to recap what has been stated multiple times before: The player is worth 31m Euro to Porto due to his release clause. We are highly interested in Ricardo, probably the best right-back in Liga NOS, but want to pay less than that (25m to 28m Euro, depending on what source you want to believe). Player/agent wants the deal done before the start of the World Cup. That‘s it. Up to four more weeks of guesswork. Happy off-season! Edited 17 May 2018 by MC Prussian 1

Quite excited by the links we've had so far. Pereira sounds like he's capable of playing the attacking and defensive full back role. Plus capable of filling in on the left if we ever needed it. 1

Pssssst... we aren't Chelsea or Spurs £25m is a ****ing shit load of money for a right back when you're Leicester City. Not far off our transfer record... for a RIGHT BACK!!!!!

I mean just going from summer signings, we spent about the same amount as Spurs, I didn't actually know that, just lofty ambitions Think of it this way, it's just a Tom Lawrence more than Musa. From the Porto end. "€9m" and "sorted over the weekend one way or another" doesn't sound two compatible statements to me. I hope we pretty much hold our ground here, Porto's position is weak with a player with one year on his contract who is adamant he's not going to sign another. Porto can't afford to not agree a reasonable deal this summer.
