RODNEY FERNIO Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 United fans seem to think £33 million is a bargain price for him. Need to be quick or we'll have no chance of getting him.

I'd totally understand him getting sacked, I totally understand people not being keen on him as well. I just get annoyed when people get to the point of blaming everything on him, jumping on rumours etc. I try to be totally fair in my judgements of him and think through things a bit deeper than just a poor run of results and some poor play. I just think he's really trying to do the right things, I like the fact he's not scared to play young players, I think his style has been hampered by what was at his disposal, that sacking him could wreck a years worth of recruitment planning. Whether he can ever implement what he wants I don't know. Fantastic post. 2
Callabinho Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 Can I not have an opinion? And why does it have to be that I okay football to have this opinion? I have never, ever rated Simpson.... is that okay with the opinion police? 1

I do hope he can get us playing regularly like we did against Spurs and Arsenal (without the leaky defence of course). We need to move the ball quicker against teams that sit back as well. We don't pull players out of position enough. Hopefully Silva and a new number 10 could help with that. I also don't necessarily think that this is the end for Danny Simpson at Leicester. With what we have so far, the likely signing of Pereira, and Mahrez probably leaving, I could see the potential for something like this: Kasper Simpson Dragovic Maguire Pereira Chilwell Ndidi Iborra Silva Iheanacho Vardy This - with Iborra further back.
Heymister2015 Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 (edited) Ben Arfa* is available on a free and had the best season of his life under Puel. If the owners really want top 6 they should also go for Jean Micheal Seri as well from Nice. Or Moussa Dembele who is surprisingly available to partner up alongside Ndidi. SecretPro Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 (edited) Can't see this happening. All the ITKs on here firmly believe that Puel's days are absolutely numbered, In which case why would Pereira come here and why would Puel go out of his way to bother to convince him to come when he's been told by the owners his days are effectively numbered if they can get someone better in (hardly fills the guy with enthusiasm for a good work ethic). Based on this 'evidence' this summer is a complete right off. Edited 17 May 2018 by SecretPro 1

Don't get why there are strong talks of him leaving. Would be a top signing even aged 30 1

Based on this 'evidence' this summer is a complete right off. Think people are attributing too much to the idea that he is only coming here because of Puel. He may well have been sounded out by him but I'm sure our scouting team have also had a good look at him and we are still a top 10 Premier League club who have a place for him to start each week and can pay him a very decent wage. Puel or no Puel. I don't see that much difference to be honest.
LCFC hub Posted 17 May 2018 Posted 17 May 2018 Puel isn't going anywhere now. This is his signing and the owners are backing him with good money. Expect a few signings before the World Cup starts. 4

I am not remotely offended at all, I really think Simpson is a shithouse, and if you wish me to go into great detail then I shall, I don’t like him because one of the first things I was always told as a modest, amateur footballer is..... that if there’s one thing you do as a full it’s stop the crosses into the box, which in my humble opinion he fails to do... he is also very uncomfortable on the ball, as the Spurs game perfectly demonstrated, as he inexplicably gifted Tottenham’s own Harry Kane, with a belated Christmas present... this is not something I’d expect to see from a “professional” footballer. He may put in the odd decent tackle and covering headers at the far post, however this is the very least I expect of someone in his position. He is slow, clumsy, lacks technical ability and the skill set he does have does not lend itself well to the highest level of football. I am perfectly aware that he was part of “that side” that won the league, but “that side” was still responsible for some harrowing defending at times, and quite often on his side of the pitch, you can only blame Mahrez’s lack of cover for so long before admitting that Simpson is quite simply a shithouse, and can get in the bin.

Shithouse is rather harsh but you're right about the crosses.
