Ricardo Pereira to Leicester City deal agreed

according to reports in Portugal.

You'd think the Mercury should have better inside info and should be embarrassed to post that.

Translates to

We have no concrete sources these days but some newspaper in another country says its done so lets try and cash in on that *cue clickbait title*

To be fair I did go back and edit that post to remove the link, but yeah - Mercury shouldn't make a concrete statement that they haven't independently confirmed.

Mercury is literally the shittest paper in Britain. Website stinks as well.

Player having previously played with Puel decides to sign for him, on the back of some top class players singing his praises. Perhaps people need to think long and hard about the "upset players" still and wonder who or why that is exactly.

Never seen you so defensive over a manager! lol

Great signing by the sounds of it though. Hopefully the first of a handful of early signings this window.

If you mean our upset players?

Perhaps they are upset because they know they won't fit into his system or style of play.

That really would be player power to back track.

Everton aren’t selling Coleman are they?  nonsense for any article to suggest they were properly  interested ???

are Roma selling their RB ??

we are probably the most desperate club in Europe re right back recruitment!

Coleman's going on 30 this year and Everton aren't spoilt for right-backs right now.

Florenzi has quite often played as RW for Roma, and it could well be that he'll feature more often on the right wing next season - Karsdorp's been out injured for most of the season (cruciate ligament rupture).

Could it be the famous 5 o'clock announcement?

5pm Friday and signing new shirts on Saturday more like.

Half expecting those Mercury hacks to report 'Ferrero Rocher to Leicester City deal agreed' if they see it on some random Twitter feed.

Well it seems our owners want or are happy to change our style.

So if they back track on that because a few players are pissed that really is handing the power to the players.

It's about the least defensive I've been for a manager for a long time. I'd totally understand him getting sacked, I totally understand people not being keen on him as well. I just get annoyed when people get to the point of blaming everything on him, jumping on rumours etc. I try to be totally fair in my judgements of him and think through things a bit deeper than just a poor run of results and some poor play. I just think he's really trying to do the right things, I like the fact he's not scared to play young players, I think his style has been hampered by what was at his disposal. Whether he can ever implement what he wants I don't know.

Fair play Babs @Babylon great post :appl:

I've just asked about this. Seems as far as Porto are concerned he's at home ATM.

He is at home in Portugal. He's with his family before (hopefully) being selected for Portugal's final World Cup squad.

I've been told the deal is pretty much done in terms of fees agreed between clubs (like any deal these days, there's a lot of add ons based on club performance and player performance). Pereira wants to come to us so now it's just a case of agreeing terms with him (£££) and finalising contract. Whether that gets done before the World Cup and then he gets unveiled before the World Cup is another matter.

Just seen a porto fan mention that the newspaper that's reported this as being done is "the worst source" for porto news.

Yep saw that too - the paper is called the 'Portcester Mockeri'

Really not sure what your point is?

My comment was to someone claiming he was at our training ground.

I think Stan is backing up what you said Sylo and adding that he understands that it’s all pretty much done.
