He's worth way more than £60mill to us. We're going to undersell him.

Such a sad day when he goes.

It's gonna be obnoxious when he gets called "world class" after few games at Man City like they helped develop him or make him a better player. We will be hearing how Pep transformed him into a great player in no time.

Man City also want Hazard? I doubt they'll get both Riyad and Hazard.

they could get both but I don't think they will. They'll probably play each other's agents against each other. With the amount of money they have, they have the power.

I personally think Hazard will go to Real Madrid if they don't get Neymar.

I think exactly the same.

All of a sudden the "genius" that is Pep will have polished a "rough diamond".

apparently £60m. Not sure if that's price with add-ons or initial fee. Or just his left foot.

I think that will be about right Stan

All the shenanigans re agents fees and them not wanting to be seen to pay much more for a single player will perhaps be hidden in a separate deal for Roberts

60 mill sounds fair enough,  for a player who has bent over in the shop window wearing a short skirt. Will be quite nice for everyone to be able to move on from this. Grown sick of it meself

This devaluing of players outside of the top 6 and the lack of credit for the clubs that developed said players is so infuriating. They are pretty much the same players when they transfer out, the only difference is the bigger stage and media exposer.

60 mill is about right, if he hadn't pushed for a move we could have arguably have got 75mill.

I'm gutted to see him go but I'm glad it's getting done early in the window means we can get on with it and leaves us plenty of time to sort some kind of replacement

The most annoying aspect of this whole Mahrez transfer debacle, is; Why couldn’t we secure his replacement before he leaves?

it’d be a lot less of a bitter pill to swallow, if we were in the knowledge that say Thorgan Hazard had been secured!

also, its not like it’s a surprise, and we’ve had no time to prepare

Think it’s fair to say that they would have been looking at potential replacements since he first said he wanted to leave. Who that is remains to be seen

60m doesnt seem enough as we will be watching Gray Diabate and Albrighton get a combined 8 assists and 2 goals next season and struggling for goals.

if we get a player in before he goes, it gives us less negotiating power when it comes to the fee.

Well if his replacement is Roberts then it’s part of the deal.

That said though he could be promising I had hoped we go for a more experienced player. Riyad is proven top quality. Don’t expect like for like but there are other options out there with decent pedigree.

To replace him you need a fairly big name. A fairly big name requires time to negotiate a deal that doesn't leave us with an Achilles heel (like the Kante contract) and a huge price. The club needs to cater to the big name to make him fit easier which leaves only one starting spot. so, do you want to isolate Mahrez or stun the youth's development?

Gray was brought as Mahrez's understudy but didn't develop fast enough so the board panicked and bought a left-footed Ligue 2 player as a short time understudy.

If he goes there, the playmaking for Man City will be filthy! KDB, Sliva, and Mahrez will have no problem getting their assists. A striker's dream to play in that side.

I know he can be an excellent player, but don't believe he's as great as he believes that he is.

Yes, players like Messi etc can have off-days, but personally think that Mahrez is too inconsistent to be considered a 'great' player.

A fee of £50m-£65m would be classed as acceptable to a neutral.
