Amazing how he's got such a great reputation without really achieving much as a manager.

I think he'll live off the unfair Birmingham sacking for a while.

He needs to succeed at Stoke or his reputation will be questioned.

Thought it was an entertaining game.

Although it's just the first game, but can see Leeds being up there (play-offs if they are consistent and remain patient with the manager if things go temporarily poor).

Stoke needs to organise themselves more defensively.

The only sour point really was the Leeds manager doing his post-match interview via an interpreter, it just felt awkward tbh.

Stoke have gone for the buy experienced but over the hill approach to add to already ageing squad full of players who don’t want to be there. It will probably get them to the play offs in the end but they were shite today.

just heard on the EFL Goals programme on Sky that Bristol City, on the opening day, have played a team that ends up getting relegated for the past 2 seasons.

They played Forest yesterday :P

Waghorn off to Derby.

Waghorn, Nugent and Lawrence, they'll be signing Lloyd Dyer next.

Derby = Leicester City Lite.

They must really hate that.

Yeah, can't remember who he last scored against

Decent looking games tomorrow, with Middlesbrough v Sheffield United and Forest v West Brom.

Think both will be home wins imo.

I think you'll win a lot of money if your Bristol City prediction comes in. They're very pessimistic about their chances down these parts. Have sold two of their best three players (Reid and Flint) and could still lose they're other one (Bryan) and have bought a load of shite!

Well that's Bryan gone as well now. 6m offer from Villa accepted. Good to see they're not bankrupt anymore...

Can see it being a tough season for Sheffield Wednesday unfortunately.

Nice. I know they've been in trouble for a while, a couple of my mates were saying they were struggling but they've been throwing money at it for the past two years now. I think they are a good outside bet to go down if we're choosing one of the bigger clubs but I don't think they will.

Why are there two games today. Not all clubs? Usually League cup round 1 week.

Forest it’s because their scheduled midweek game clashes with Trent Bridge test match
