Leicester City table £20m bid for attacker after reports Tottenham made ‘concrete offer’

Haberturk report Leicester City have made an offer to sign Trabzonspor starlet Abdulkadir Omur.

The 19 year old, nicknamed the ‘Turkish Messi’, has been a claimed transfer target for a host of clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona.

According to Haberturk, Leicester City officials made a formal £20m bid to sign Trabzonspor’s highly rated attacker, and the Turkish side’s board will meet tomorrow to discuss the offer.

It’s claimed Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu doesn’t want to sell one of his star players, but with the club’s financial problems the offer from Leicester City could prove too tempting.

In April Tottenham were linked with Omur, and they were also claims that Spurs submitted an offer.

Turkish journalist Erdal Hos said Tottenham are interested in Omur and approached Trabzonspor with a ‘concrete offer’. At the time it felt like there was an effort to talk up the player’s value, and perhaps present interest as being more serious than it is.

After being dubbed the Turkish Messi, there are now reports referring to him as the Turkish Salah, which gives an idea of the hype.

The youngster scored 3 goals and provided 6 assists during his debut season in the Turkish top flight.

First the Turkish Messi, then the Turkish Salah.

What next? The Turkish Alli?

Difficult name but I guess I'll just be calling him Abdy. Someone, somewhere once called him the Turkish Messi. Eh, germmin. Shinji's getting on. Vardy's got about three seasons left in him. We need another striker.

sounds suspiciously  like marketing to try and increase prices and interest rather than anything concrete. Be great if the claims and reports were true, but I'll remain cynical for now

'Turkish Bath' is probably who we will end up with.
